Later this year, Samsung Pay will be available at hundreds of thousands of merchants around the world where Visa Checkout is accepted.

Samsung Electronics partners with Visa to make Samsung Pay available for online merchants. Samsung aims to make the online payment experience simpler, faster and more secure. Samsung Pay uses fingerprint authentication to allow users shopping online with no need to add payment card data, billing or shipping details each time they shop.

Starting later this year, Samsung Pay users will be able to shop online at hundreds of thousands of merchants around the world where Visa Checkout is accepted. Users with fingerprint authentication-enabled Samsung devices will need to click the Visa Checkout/Samsung Pay co-branded button. The payment will be completed with just one touch of the fingerprint sensor.

Samsung admits that there is still more friction than necessary in the online checkout process. The company aims to help merchants improve their checkout conversion rates. Having partnered with Visa, Samsung Pay can offer online merchants the same streamlined checkout experience it brought to mobile devices.

“We are very excited to be working with Visa to offer simple, fast and secure checkout experiences to millions of Samsung Pay users on their mobile devices or desktop,” said Injong Rhee, CTO of the Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics.” Our partnership benefits not only Samsung Pay users but also hundreds of thousands of online merchants who are looking for effective ways to increase their checkout conversion rates.”

“The days of filling out long forms or remembering usernames to make online purchases are continuing to wind down, as options like Visa Checkout’s open platform become accessible on hundreds of thousands of merchant sites and companies like Samsung see the value in simplifying the process for both consumers and merchants,” said Jim McCarthy, executive vice president, innovation and strategic partnerships, Visa Inc. “We are excited to extend the benefits of Samsung Pay from the mobile world to now also include online merchants, ensuring customers can pay everywhere Visa Checkout is accepted, on any device and in app.”

At the beginning of March, Samsung became the first company to launch a mobile payment system in India. Currently, the payment solution is available in 12 countries, including Singapore, Australia, South Korea, China, Spain and the United States. The company is also planning to expand the solution to six more countries in the near future, including the UK and Sweden.

Samsung has just made one more exciting announcement – the company unveiled the highly-anticipated Galaxy S8 and S8+.  The whole world has been waiting for the official launch after the picture of device leaked to the press in the beginning of March.

Samsung is proud to say that its 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 and 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ push the boundaries of traditional smartphones with seamless hardware design and a variety of new service offerings. The new devices seem to represent a new level of functionality and convenience, opening up a galaxy of possibilities, services and apps as well as a stunning Infinity Display for immersive viewing experiences.
