BitPay, a provider of bitcoin payments, is going to sponsor the Kyle Busch Motorsports team at the NASCAR event that will start on February 20th.

BitPay, US-based bitcoin payment service provider, announced that it will become a sponsor at the forthcoming NASCAR event. Dogecoin was the other cryptocurrency company that had sponsored the NASCAR team before.

BitPay signed a sponsorship deal with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team Kyle Busch Motorsports. The company will be the main brand on No. 54 truck that will be driven by Justin Boston.

The company also served as a main sponsor at the St. Petersburg Bowl, which was recently held in Florida. The partnership between BitPay and ESPN Events will last for the next four years.

However, the viewership of the NASCAR event is much higher if compared to the college football game. This will help BitPay to promote its services and will allow viewers learning more about the bitcoin technology.

BitPay’s vice president of marketing, Stephanie Wargo, commented: “NASCAR is watched by millions of people all over the world. Through this exposure and working with Justin and [his official operator] KBM, we hope to help raise awareness about the bitcoin technology and our company’s platform.”

The company intends to encourage merchants participating in the event to accept bitcoin payments. Given the geographical expansion of the event, the amount of merchants using the cryptocurrency is likely to grow this time.

“I couldn’t be more excited about having this opportunity to represent the BitPay brand on and off the track. BitPay is a global leader in bitcoin payment processing and they are at the forefront of shaping how we all spend money in everyday life,” Justin Boston stated.

Bitcoin is not the only digital currency that became involved in the sport event. Last year, the dogecoin community successfully sponsored the Nascar driver Josh Wise at the Talladega Superspeedway race, raising over $55,000 to help the racer.

Besides, the users of Reddit donated 67.8 million dogecoin just in few days after the crowdfunding campaign started. In addition, last year, the dogecoin community also raised more than $30,000 in dogecoins to get the Jamaican bobsled team to the Sochi Olympics.

The 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season will begin on February 20 at Daytona International Speedway and will be broadcasted on Fox Sports 1.
