Naked Labs creates Naked – the industry’s first 3D fitness tracker. The company aims to inspire health through honest insights based on actionable data, helping people make better decisions about their exercise, diet, and well-being.

Naked Labs, a Silicon Valley-based health and wellness startup has recently launched the world’s first 3D Fitness Tracker for customers.

Naked Labs has learned through research that people who witnessed visible progress after beginning a fitness regimen were much more likely to stick to their routines. Naked Labs’ mission is to motivate behavioral change by helping people visualize their progress much faster and more accurately than what can be seen on a traditional weight scale or in a mirror.

“We believe the only fitness metric worth tracking is progress. With the Naked 3D Fitness Tracker, people can immediately see how and where their bodies are changing,” said Farhad Farahbakhshian, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Naked Labs. “The Naked 3D Fitness Tracker is transformative in its ability to motivate people to achieve their health and fitness goals through visualizations of their progress on their 3D body model.”

People of all fitness levels from the casual exerciser to serious athletes, bodybuilders, weight loss participants, and everyone in between have really enjoyed seeing their bodies change in 3D.

“One beta user wanted to increase muscle mass, while another was going through a period of extensive weight loss and trying to get healthy. We have even tracked pregnancies month by month with some of our beta users so that they could see how their pregnancy changed their bodies,” added Farahbakhshian. “Our users have loved being able to see their bodies’ physical changes.”

Naked captures an accurate 3D body model of a user and displays it on iPhone or Android smartphone or tablet, providing valuable visual context to user’s health and fitness goals. Furthermore, it can extract measurements, an accurate body fat percentage, and weight.

Naked’s 3D heat map shows changes to user’s body geometry over days, weeks, and months. Significant changes are highlighted in a different color so users can note areas of their body where they are gaining muscle or losing fat and vice versa.

With Naked one can create a custom time-lapse of his/her body: being able to see body change while training for a marathon, going through a pregnancy, or bulking up with more muscle. The development of this innovative body scanner was made possible with key technology from Intel.

“We are excited to work with the Naked Labs team on their fitness body scanner for the home, utilizing our industry leading Intel processors and RealSense Technology. This product and application will offer greater insight and awareness to users, helping them check progress on a continuous basis as they work toward healthy body transformation,” said Josh Walden, senior vice president and general manager of the New Technology Group, Intel Corporation.
