Boosteroid is to Provide Free Computing Power for AI-Startups

Boosteroid founder Ivan Shvaichenko noted that this idea comes from understanding that aging is one of the most significant and unresolved issues that humankind faces today.

“Initially we’ve decided to provide 10% of our computing power for AI-startups. However, as we learnt brand new AI researchers, we agreed to proceed from the general to the particular and focused only on prolongation of human life and aging issues. Furthermore, what influenced our decision was that AI researchers in this area cannot be harmful to people”, – said Shvaichenko.

According to him, startups addressing the issues of aging face lack of financing and computing power to reach their goals.

“Accordingly, if we provide 10% of computing power we will get much closer to a solution of one of the main challenges that we face today”, – states Boosteroid founder.

Criteria for selection of startups to be provided with computing power, will be set after the first ICO stage that starts on October 23, 2017.

“We will create an independent international commission that will set criteria for startups selection and will determine the projects to be provided with computing power”, – ensured Ivan Shvaichenko.

Boosteroid is an international project that aims to create a cloud services platform that provides convenient access to computing power, storages and software products.

The project will allow to abandon expensive personal computers in favor of a powerful remote service with a user-friendly interface and a simple management. A computer is able to carry out a variety of tasks in the “cloud” – from working with texts to analyzing DNA.

Today the prices of cloud computing rent offered by market leaders — Amazon WS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud — are very high, so this service is still the privilege of the “elite”.

Not only have users to pay a lot for computing power rent offered by market leaders but also face difficulties when trying to take this rent. It is very challenging even for advanced users to go through the rental procedure that includes complex settings and requires a lot of time. The team has decided to hold the ICO to expand computing facilities as well as make price of computing power rent competitive and available for everyone.

The first stage starts on October 23 and ends on November 6, 2017, the second stage starts on November 27 and last until December 11, 2017. The third – from January, 15, 2017 to February.
