SIRIN LABS has revealed specs of its new devices FINNEY. The key features are the ‘cold storage wallet’ for cryptocurrencies, secure P2P resource sharing, and distributed ledger consensus.

SIRIN LABS, the company that developed SOLARIN, an ultra-secure mobile phone, has unveiled the specs of the anticipated phone FINNEY that will hit markets later this year.

For the development of FINNEY, the world’s first blockchain smartphone, the company partnered with Foxconn International Holding (FIH) and raised $157.8M. FIH is in charge of manufacturing the FINNEY devices in its facilities, leading the original design and manufacturing of the phone, while SIRIN LABS is responsible for the development of the cold storage wallet hardware and the SIRIN OS.

“Our team has been working vigorously to make sure that the first blockchain smartphone is cutting edge in all technical aspects. Our collaboration with FIH ensures that we will be offering state-of-the-art design with device architecture that will enable true security and user-friendly blockchain experience.”

SIRIN LABS was founded in 2014 with the mission to develop the world’s most secure phone.  In May, 2016, SOLARIN was launched. This ultra-secure mobile phone incorporates state-of-the  hardware and software security technology, 24/7 cyber protection, and includes a private zone for encrypted calling and messaging.

SIRIN LABS’ vision is to become the world’sleader in secure open source consumer electronics, bringing the gap between the mass market and the blockchain economy.

The company’s new FINNEY devices are aimed at solving such problems as network scalability, payment speed, security and privacy. They will includesuch blockchain features as secure P2P resource sharing, built-in “cold storage” crypto wallet, and distributed ledger consensus.

FINNEY phone will pair Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. On the imaging front, the phone will pack a 12-megapixel, f/1.8 lens with laser autofocus, while up front you’ll find an 8-megapixel, f/2.2 snapper with an 85-degree angle. Nestled beneath that is the fingerprint sensor, while the 6-inch, 18:9 display has a pixel density of 402PPI.

FINNEY PC will have a 24-inch (diagonal) 2K display, biometric security sensors, 8GB memory, 256GB storage, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac.

The key matter of interest to the intended market is the “embedded cold storage wallet,” which will hold all your digital currencies. The wallet is entirely disconnected from the rest of the phone when not in use, and is only activated when you push a specific button, so this hardware enclave is “tamper-resistant”.

Enabling seamless and automatic token conversions for the use of different decentralized applications, without the hassle of obtaining the different tokens through an exchange, FINNEY will solve the complicated user experience, thus it seems to be of high success.
