As we eagerly anticipate the main conference of the eighth edition of Hong Kong FinTech Week 2023, we are proud to present a lineup of female leaders who will share their expertise and insights on various aspects of the digital landscape, including Digital Assets, Web3, and Green Finance.

“To build the workforce we need to succeed today and for the future — and create a more diverse corporate culture — leading employers must make a concerted effort to recruit more women for technology roles.

Luanne Lim, Chief Executive at HSBC Hong Kong

Diversity, equity, and accessibility form the fundamental pillars of an inclusive and boundaryless digital world. Embracing these principles entails not only leaving behind prejudices and embracing financial technology, but also recognising the invaluable contributions of female leaders in the male-dominated field of technology. As we eagerly anticipate the main conference of the eighth edition of Hong Kong FinTech Week 2023, we are proud to present a lineup of female leaders who will share their expertise and insights on various aspects of the digital landscape, including Digital Assets, Web3, and Green Finance.

This year, we are excited to introduce the inaugural Women in Tech Lounge (Venture Stage Hall 3DE), curated by our title sponsor HSBC, with the objective of promoting diversity and inclusion in the finance and technology ecosystem. The Women in Tech Lounge will serve as a unique space where students from local universities can showcase their talents, senior technology leaders can network, and entrepreneurs can share their experiences in building businesses. The aim is to foster meaningful conversations about careers and entrepreneurship in fintech, while emphasising the importance of diversity and inclusion in the finance and technology sectors.

As one of the long-term supporters of HKFW, HSBC has always been committed to nurturing talent and cultivating a diverse workforce that reflects the communities it serves. This commitment extends to collaborations with the Hong Kong SAR government and universities throughout the city, aiming to empower and inspire young fintech talents through training and project-based competitions. In Hong Kong,

HSBC has consistently witnessed an increase in the number of women in senior leadership roles in Hong Kong for four consecutive years since 2019.

In HSBC Hong Kong, women accounted for 38.6% of senior leadership positions as of December 31, 2022, surpassing the global target.

Globally, HSBC aims to achieve a representation of 35% women in senior leadership positions by 2025. In 2022, representation of women in senior leadership increased by 1.6% to reach 33.3%.

Do not miss the kickoff workshop taking place in the Women in Tech Lounge on Day 1 (November 2) at 10:30am, “Bridging the Gender Gap in Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship,” with Ms Louisa Zhang, Head of Investments, APAC at HSBC Innovation and Ventures, Ms Cindy Zhang, Investor at Gobi Partners, Ms Fiona Lau, Entrepreneur and Co-founder at Shopline and Ms Quennie Wong, Director at BPEA EQT.
