The movie will cover the origin and the rise of Coinbase since its debut in US public markets.

Coinbase Global Inc (NASDAQ: COIN) CEO Brian Armstrong has announced that the company will release a documentary about cryptos and the exchange itself. Named “Coin: A Founder’s Story”, the movie has been created by Coinbase in collaboration with Greg Kohs, 10-time Emmy award-winning director. As soon as this Friday, the documentary will be available on Amazon, Apple TV (formerly iTunes), and YouTube.

As the trailer of the documentary reveals, the movie will cover the origin and the rise of Coinbase since its debut in US public markets. Besides, the documentary will feature Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin, MicroStrategy co-founder and Bitcoin (BTC) bull Michael Saylor, and other proponent figures in the industry.

According to Brian Armstrong, the movie is a must-watch for everyone involved or interested in crypto, including policymakers. He believes the documentary will help advance the cause of cryptocurrencies, as well as show the inspiration of individuals driving the industry forward.

Armstrong said:

“I agreed to do this documentary because I wanted to demystify what it takes to build a tech startup and encourage more people to start companies. I also wanted to demystify crypto.”

He also said that Greg Kohs and his team had “unprecedented access” to Coinbase’s activity, which has helped capture the insane ups and downs that Coinbase has been facing over the past three years.

Brian Armstrong added:

“I got in touch with Greg after seeing another film he created called AlphaGo which was about DeepMind’s program beating Go champion Lee Sedol. It was a powerful story and that’s what convinced me to trust him to tell our story. I hope that you will all go and see the film – and that policy makers will see it too. I believe it will help advance the cryptocurrency cause.”

For Greg Kohs, the movie is his latest project that follows two short documentaries and a full feature of the same genre called “AlphaGo.”
