World-Renowned soccer player Lionel Messi has signed a two-year deal with the French soccer club Paris-Saint Germain which will earn him an annual salary of $41 million, including payments to be made in crypto tokens or $PSG.

Lionel Messi has recently signed a new deal with PSG, a French-based soccer club that will be paying the soccer superstar in cryptocurrency tokens. The new deal will also include an annual salary of $41M as well as an additional $30 million as a signing fee amount.

PSG in a statement issued on Thursday has also announced that Messi will also be getting paid in $PSG crypto tokens as a part of his “welcome package.”

Lionel Messi has joined PSG in a two-year deal which comprises a new financial package for the soccer player that includes $41 Million as an annual salary with bonuses as well as a fixed sum of $30 Million to be paid as a signing fee amount. Messi had recently made headlines where the Argentine player was seen leaving his former team Barcelona. The team had also accepted the fact that they were unable to follow through with the player’s five-year contract agreement plan which was the major cause that compelled Messi to leave Barcelona and join PSG.

The new financial package that Messi will be getting from PSG will also include crypto-tokens called $PSG Fan Tokens. The French-based soccer club had confirmed that the player will also be getting paid in crypto tokens as a part of his welcome package.

$PSG fan tokens were created for the first time in 2020 in collaboration with crypto platform Socios.com as fan community tokens and were generated to assist PSG in building a new durable fan community. In the meanwhile, PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has commented that this new collaboration will certainly shock the world with the amount of revenue that it will be generating now that they have Messi on board with them. The following deal is speculated to open new commercial revenue mediums for the club to earn profits with, especially through the sale of team jerseys.

Marc Armstrong, chief partnership officer at PSG has also commented that the new form of payment that includes crypto tokens, will encourage the club to generate a new digital revenue stream as well as establish active contacts in a global community that will assist the club in maintaining consistent revenue channels.
