Crypto Gateway Platform Alchemy Pay Secures License in Indonesia

Singapore-based Alchemy Pay is quite popular for offering on and off-ramps, crypto payments, as well as NFT checkout to Web3 platforms. 

In a recent development, the crypto gateway platform Alchemy Pay announced securing a license from the central bank of Indonesia in cooperation with local fintech firm Berkah Digital Pembayaran. As a result, Alchemy Pay will be able to operate remittances and fund transfers in the region.

In its official announcement earlier today, February 27, Alchemy Pay noted that Bank Indonesia issued an official joint license to Alchemy Pay and Berkah Digital’s platform BDPay. This would allow the firms to offer better payout methods at reduced operating costs. The license will also improve the ability of these two players to payout end users and clients across Asia.

The official website of Bank Indonesia has listed Berkah Digital as a parent service provider under License Category 3. The firm is popular for its BDPay platform which offers retail and corporate clients local and cross-border remittance services. Besides, the platform also provides clients with payroll services as well as transfers through bank application programming interfaces. Using the BDPay platform, users can transfer funds across 136 banks in Indonesia. The announcement notes:

“Certified by ISO/IEC 27001:2013, it directly connects with bank APIs, making it easy to transfer to 136 banks in Indonesia. It facilitates same-day transfers and has developed support for community needs with agents distributed across Indonesia”.
