The official website serves as a guide to the innovative standard, providing resources on its motivation, design, community, perks for developers building in the ERC-6900, and Roadmap.

The official resources for ERC-6900 have been released. This project aims to standardize the interface for composable smart contracts. It is the result of collaboration between the Ethereum Foundation, Alchemy, Circle, and Quantstamp.

The official website serves as a guide to the innovative standard, providing resources on its motivation, design, community, perks for developers building in the ERC-6900, and Roadmap.

Standardizing Interfaces and Fostering Composability

The primary goal behind ERC-6900 is to create permissionless innovation by making it easy for developers to build secure, interoperable, and composable modular smart contracts and plugins. By setting common standards for these, ERC -6900 wants to solve the problem of fragmentation within the Ethereum ecosystem.

One of the main features of ERC-6900 is its emphasis on developers using the same term, definition, and interface. This makes it easier for different parts of the Ethereum ecosystem to be compatible and reduces the complexity that often arises when using it alongside other solutions.

The innovation is also built to work well with the ERC-4337 standard, but it does not depend on it, making it more widely applicable and well-adopted.The ERC-6900 plugins and their validation and execution functions are also available. These standardized components are essential because they allow plugin designers to create interoperable and secure smart account features, such as session keys, subscriptions, spending limits, and role-based access control.

Fostering Innovation and Community Engagement

This new project is also designed to cancel developer lock-in, enabling developers to build their solutions without being restricted to specific ways of implementing accounts. This flexibility fosters a vibrant environment for innovation where developers can create new ideas without worrying about conforming to a particular platform’s demands.

Furthermore, the official ERC-6900 website also revealed the community engagement aspect of ERC-6900, as it provides access to community forums and information and shows how interested persons can participate actively with the working group. It was stated:

“The working group of ERC-6900 developers meet once a week to discuss standard improvements. Weekly summaries from these calls are available on GitHub. If you’re interested in more active participation in the working group discussions, please comment on this Github issue.”

Exclusive Perks and Future Developments

More so, the solution offers features such as exclusive perks for developers building within the ERC-6900 ecosystem, as the team behind the innovation has partnered with several security experts to provide arrays of exclusive benefits, which are spread into three, including Quantstamp, Spearbit, and Cyfrin ERC-6900 perks. The official website also provides a roadmap of what the team is working on and what to expect next from the team.

Similarly, Alchemy, a blockchain development platform, in February announced the launch of Modular Account, a contract account implementation built to be compatible with ERC-4337 and ERC-6900. It is an innovation that allows developers to access the web3 space more broadly, enabling them to build embedded wallets on Ethereum layer 2 solutions in a secure, low cost, and flexible manner.
