Blockworks founder Jason Yanowitz who will be hosting the Permissionless Crypto conference in October said that Democratic donors are willing to mediate between them and Kamala Harris’ campigh team.

While the US Vice President Kamala Harris chose not to attend the Bitcoin Conference 2024 last week, some of the biggest donors to the Democratic Party want her to speak at the upcoming Permissionless crypto conference scheduled by Blockworks in October this year. Ahead of the US Presidential elections in November, crypto enthusiasts are looking at what stand these candidates take in regard to the crypto industry.

Thus, the Democratic donors believe that this could be a good opportunity for Kamala Harris to reach out to the crypto industry. Blockworks founder Jason Yanowitz said that the donors have also offered to mediate a talk between Harris’ team and the Blockworks organizers. “[They’re] basically saying, we’d like to set this up for you,” he said.

So far, Blockworks hasn’t heard directly from Kamala Harris’ campaign team. “We’re getting pushed by some of the biggest Democratic donors to have her be there,” added Yanowitz.

As per reports, Galaxy Digital founder and CEO Mike Novogratz will be speaking at the event. Novogratz has also requested the crypto community to turn their back to Kamala Harris. In the latest development, advisers of Kamala Harris have been reaching out to the crypto industry players in order to “reset” their relations.

However, market players have been calling out her bluff after Harris is considering anti-crypto Senator Gary Peters as her running mate. furthermore, the US government selling off over $2 billion worth of BTC on Monday, has sent a wrong message to the crypto community, at a time when the Republican leaders are projecting to make Bitcoin a US reserve.

Blockworks Crypto Conference to Also See Republican Attendees

Organizers of the Permissionless Crypto conference stated that they are in talks with politicians from both parties – Republicans and Democrats. Yanowitz said that the goal of the event was to strike a more bipartisan tone contrasting the Bitcoin 2024 conference last week that saw a large number of Republican lawmakers attend the event.

“It’s our duty to tell both sides of the story,” Yanowitz told Decrypt. He added that Permissionless is set to be the largest US-based cryptocurrency conference in the second half of 2024 in terms of ticket sales, with demand already “exceeding all of our expectations”.
