Orbs Unveils Latest Upgrade amid Growing Demand and Adoption of Its L3 Infrastructure

The Orbs V4 has paid more attention to efficiency, particularly in the area of node implementation.

Layer3 (L3) blockchain infrastructure Orbs has announced that Orbs V4, an upgrade to its Network protocol, is currently under development. According to the project, the upgrade is necessary to meet the growing demand for its products and the L3 technology at large. The firm claimed in its announcement that the V4 has been designed, particularly in the area of efficiency and robustness, to cater to a nearly certain upsurge that Orbs expects for the usage of its products this year.

Presently, Orbs revealed that there has been an increased use of its products as more decentralized applications continue to integrate them.

Although the growing adoption is good news, the firm also admitted that it is only a matter of time before the network gets clogged up. Therefore, the situation calls for a pressing need to carry out a raft of key node upgrades. That is if it is to remain relevant in the blockchain space, Orbs added.

Blockchain Infrastructure Orbs Keen on L3 Dominance

For Orbs, it appears that the upgrade is not exactly about scaling up. It may be more about being at the forefront of the L3 infrastructure space.

This sentiment was echoed by the company CEO Nadav Shemesh, who expressed his delight in “the evolution to Orbs V4”. Part of his statement about the upgrade reads:

“… It’s about setting a new standard in L3 infrastructure, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve in this ever-evolving space.”

Recall that Orbs’ efforts toward becoming an industry leader did not start today. V4 is coming nearly two years after the introduction of Orbs 3.0, the project’s original L3 architecture.

What Advancements?

As it has been mentioned, the Orbs V4 has paid more attention to efficiency, particularly in the area of node implementation. It also brings advancement to Layer3 scaling enhancements and uptime.

Additionally, users may now have access to an upgraded L3 Activity dashboard where they can track Orbs-powered protocols. Lastly, they have access to a Tetra staking wallet that has also been completely overhauled.

It might also be worth mentioning that Orbs has said it is eyeing more upgrades soon. To this end, it has now automated its rollout process for Guardian nodes which used to be done manually.

Aside from automation, Orbs also took into consideration some of the technical issues that node operators face. It has replaced the Orbs node installer CLI and has moved to ensure that the Orbs core orchestrator can be better audited.
