With an active support of the government of Russia, the project aims to solve children’s problems by creating a new technology segment powered by Universa blockchain.

Universa, a blockchain platform for business applications development, together with National Center for Helping Lost and Exploited Children and BAZAAR Production, is going to introduce the world’s first technology area called Child Tech.

Located at the intersection of over 30 technology segments, the niche will leverage innovative technology to form the institute of social protection of childhood and fulfill the National Action Strategy for Children.

Child Tech will be demonstrated during a BAZAAR Technology Convention that will be held in Sochi, Russia, on November 16-19. A working solution for the blockchain-based alert and monitoring system for the search of missing kids will be showcased during the event.

As part of the initiative, Universa, the Monitoring Center for Helping Lost and Exploited Children, and BAZAAR Production, will establish a co-working and acceleration program that will include representatives from various government departments, leaders of the Russian development institutions, international experts, and delegates of major public organizations dealing with the problems of children.

The National Center for Helping Lost and Exploited Children was established under the 2012-2017 National Action Strategy for Children, under a decree by Vladimir Putin.

More than 3000 stakeholders from social organizations and government agencies will participate in the project, providing first-hand information on the current issues. Besides, a special Child Tech Hackathon will be launched to select the most promising projects designed for social protection, efficient program of search for missing kids, protecting life and health of families and children, orphans and children without parental care, minors in socially dangerous situations, and kids suffering from cruel treatment.

The winners will receive a prize of 1,000,000 Universa tokens, which is now worth US $100,000, and become residents of the specialized accelerator unit that will provide mentor support and an opportunity to be presented to the top public officials.

Following years of ambiguous position towards cryptocurrency, Russian president has recently clarified the government’s stance by issuing new presidential orders to develop a legal framework for handling digital currencies. This is a clear sign the state wants to embrace innovative technology.

In September, Alexander Borodich, took part in the meeting with the Federation Council of Russia to discuss the latest trends in the digital transformation of financial systems. Universa founder spoke about the benefits of the blockchain technology, underlying that the government and the financial sector is “the main blockchain consumer”.

Alexey Mayorov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy, underlined the significance of expert research in the field of new crypto technologies and emphasized the necessity to develop legal framework for blockchain projects.

Universa is now conducting an ICO that has already brought the company more than $14 million. As the team earlier revealed, the project aims to attract over $100 million in investments during its token sale.
