One of the new tools is an AI-powered script generator designed to help advertisers generate script ideas based on prompts that describe the product or business.

Video editing app CapCut is expanding its offerings to include AI-powered business tools. CapCut, which is owned by ByteDance, is the company’s second app, after TikTok, to hit $100 million in customer spending.

The video editing app features easy-to-use templates, TikTok integration, and AI effects and filters. It usually ranks in the top 10 or 20 apps in the iOS App Store and has become one of the most used consumer video editing apps.

The company is now expanding its toolkit to include a new set of tools designed for advertisers and content creators. With the unveiling of the “CapCut for Business” extension, the platform extends its support to advertisers, content creators, brands, and small businesses with tools designed to help them create ads and branded content. It will be available on the CapCut application on both desktop and mobile devices. CapCut for Business is currently available for use by advertisers, brands, creators, and others for free.

One of the new tools is an AI-powered script generator designed to help advertisers generate script ideas based on prompts that describe the product or business. The extension also features thousands of commercially licensed business templates and a smart tool used to convert URLs of products or landing pages into videos.

Another CapCut for Business feature is the ability to generate video presenters using AI. The presenters can showcase a company’s products or services through demos and explainer videos. A particular feature that appears to be targeted at e-commerce and clothing businesses is “virtual try-on” – a feature that allows customers to try on products and generate photos that highlight a product’s use cases.

CapCut for Business is also designed for collaboration. It allows creators to work on their projects with other team members, teams, and other creators. Each user can be granted permission to access, edit, review, or make suggestions on the content being generated. Videos generated by CapCut for Business can be used both as ad videos across platforms like TikTok and as organic content posted to the businesses’ social media accounts.

This latest addition to the app has the potential to increase the number of users.  According to data from data.ai, as of August 2023, CapCut was being used by 490 million users on iOS and Android. Outside China, the app has gained popularity in the US, UK, Germany, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and Brazil with a steady increase in monthly downloads over the first half of the year. It is available in about 170 countries worldwide.
