Aethir’s Decentralized GPU Service Brings $36M Revenue in First Year

Aethir’s decentralized GPU power has been in strong demand with players like TensorOpera AI leveraging them to train a 750-million-parameter AI model for 30 consecutive days.

Aethir, the decentralized GPU platform has reported the revenue numbers for the first year hitting a staggering $36 million. The GPU-as-a-service provider stated that there’s a 10% month-on-month growth amid the soaring demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and edge computing power that is driving the growth of the decentralized graphics processing unit (GPU) network.

Aethir claims that it is the world’s only enterprise-grade GPU-as-a-service decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN). The company provides highly scalable GPU computing services that are 60% less costly in comparison to top market players such as Amazon Web Services. Furthermore, Aethir provides distributed infrastructure to harness existing GPUs with idle capacity.

Aethir sources its GPU capacity from tier 3 and tier 4 data centers, the highest quality tiers, which boast an expected uptime of 99.982%, according to an Aethir spokesperson. speaking on the development, Aethir Co-Founder and Head of Strategy Mark Rydon said:

“GPUs have become the backbone of modern computing, but not everyone can access it. This limits innovation and creates systems of bias that prevent people from accessing and building new products and solutions using the latest technology. There are serious evolving needs across many industries that traditional cloud providers just can’t serve. As AI and cloud computing continue to transform, we look forward to growing the pool of resources to democratize access to enable cutting-edge developments.”

Aethir’s Decentralized GPUs in Strong Demand

Aethir’s decentralized GPU power has been in strong demand with players like TensorOpera AI leveraging them to train a 750-million-parameter AI model for 30 consecutive days. Moreover, Aethir has also been integrated into game development and other publishing platforms such as MetGravity, Sequence, and GameSwift.

The Aethir network introduced a Solana-based application APhone that enhances outdated smartphones by providing access to new service on-chain for just $20 a year. Designed like Android, APhone is platform-agnostic and offers both Web3 and Web2 apps, including WhatsApp, Instagram, and ChatGPT, in its app store.

Aethir’s testnet had hosted a massive 500,000 users including giants such as Super Micro, Nvidia, HPE, and Foxconn, during the $146-million node sale. In June, it launched its network on the Ethereum mainnet.

The native ATH coin utilizes Ethereum for staking and Ethereum layer-2 Arbitrum for provider payments and community rewards. ATH can be staked on the entertainment-focused Sophon ZK chain. With a total supply of 42 billion ATH, each token was valued at $0.0755 at the time of writing.
