Upon a successful acquisition, Be Media will become a subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based company. The media company will begin to oversee partnerships with more top brands in Australia. Animoca Brands said it will continue to advance the emergence of the open metaverse. The company intends to continue delivering digital property rights to online users through blockchains and NFTs.

In addition, Animoca Brands said the media company had started hiring professionals in blockchain and project management. The new employees will help the company achieve its new and expanded business models. As Be Media becomes an Animoca Brands company, its CEO and founder, Jordan Fogarty, will retain his position. Fogarty will also maintain significant minority ownership in the company.

Commenting on the deal with Be Media, Animoca Brands co-founder Yat Siu said:

“The acquisition of Be Media will allow Animoca Brands to extend its core capabilities to support the Australian market and beyond. There are tremendous opportunities in Australia and Be Media will enhance our ability to work with companies that wish to participate in the exciting opportunities presented by the emerging open metaverse.”

Fogarty’s comment depicts his satisfaction with the agreement with Animoca Brands. He said he is “honored to have the opportunity to support cherished Australian brands who want to explore opportunities in this space and introduce their customers to the metaverse, NFTs, and the power of digital property rights.”

Speaking further, Fogarty spoke about when he founded Be Media in 2013. According to the innovator, he started Be Media due to the power of digital. He said the purpose is to create a massive and scalable impact. Noting that the process has evolved over the years, Fogarty added that becoming a part of Animoca Brands will allow the company “make that impact global and lasting.”
