Apple has sent invitations to media people for the next week’s Apple event on October 18.
On Tuesday, October 12, tech giant Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) announced that it plans to hold an event next week on October 18. Apple has sent invites to media people for the event. Apple’s senior vice president of marketing, Greg Joswiak also tweeted about the upcoming event.

Analysts expect that at its event Apple could unveil new MackBook laptops and Airpod headphones in the upcoming event. The last time Apple released the latest models for these two devices was two years back in 2017. Thus, Apple AirPods and Apple MacBooks are due for revision.
The launch shall entirely stream through the Apple website. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, Apple has been holding virtual events.
Two years back, Apple transititoned it MacBook laptops to its native M1 chipsets from the previous Intel chipsets. This has been a huge shift with Apple too getting a good response from its buyers. So far with its “M” series chipsets Apple has released MacBook Pro, MackBook Air, Mac Mini, and iMac computers using its chipsets.
However, Apple has yet to update its most powerful line of desktop computers to its own chipsets. This includes the Mac Pro desktop and larger MacBook Pro laptops.
The Latest Updates Ahead of Apple Event
Over the last month, there have been some major announcements coming from Apple. In September, the tech giant announced its iPhone 13 series of phones bringing major advancements on the hardqware front. The iPhone 13 hosts Appple’s latest and native A15 Bionic chips.
Later in the same month, Apple announced the iOS 15. This new software upgrade comes with AI features that can better identify animals, plants, and other items in photos, and a feature that better controls limits on notifications. Furthermore, one of the major upgrades that iOS 15 bring is he ability of FaceTime to make calls to Windows and Android users.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has been quite bullish on the developments taking place in the Augmented Reality market. The company has been allegedly working on AR glasses, however, there’s no official word so far. Commenting on the future of AR, the Apple boss said:
“I think AR is one of these much less intensive technologies that we’ll look back on one day and go, how do we live our lives without it?”
AAPL stock, however, has been on a downtrend over the last month correcting more than 5%. But it is still trading at 10% premium on a year-to-date basis.
