DRiP Haus, Solana Creator Platform, Prepares for July Launch on iOS and Android

Solana’s creator platform DRiP Haus allows its users to distribute their digital artwork, such as music or art, to its followers while receiving tips and payments in return.

Vibhu Norby, founder and CEO of Drip Labs, recently announced that the Solana creator platform DRiP Haus is preparing for the launch of its mobile app this July on Android and iOS platforms.

A mobile app is important for the creator platform as it will feature a natively embedded wallet, created automatically for the user, thereby simplifying the onboarding process, said Norby. He also stated that the DRiP Haus app is currently in the alphas testing and the actual time of release shall depend on the respective app stores.

Solana’s creator platform DRiP Haus allows its users to distribute their digital artwork, such as music or art, to its followers while receiving tips and payments in return. The platform is broadening the range of content and experiences available to creators, with plans to introduce news, videos, and podcasts. These will be directly accessible in the app and can also be viewed in compatible wallets like Phantom, though the quality may vary. Norby stated:

“What’s nice is if you’re crypto native media, you are directly putting your assets in front of 100,000 solana collectors per day. Within the web2 media, that’s tiny; within crypto that’s a pretty big slice of folks.”

Solana’s DRiP Haus Better than Other Platforms

Norby stated that the DRiP platform offers a key advantage over traditional Web2 subscription services, which typically revoke access to content once a subscription is canceled. In contrast, DRiP ensures users retain ownership of their content, stored in their digital wallets, irrespective of their subscription status.

The platform leverages the Solana blockchain for payments, while the actual data is hosted on the decentralized storage protocol Arweave. This configuration theoretically allows users to access content directly, bypassing platform payments. However, DRiP’s founder, Norby, believes the platform’s user-friendly interface will deter such actions. He added:

“We’ve definitely talked about the range of encrypted ideas here, but there’s no preventing piracy of content in this day and age and our best hope is to make it convenient and cheap enough to do the right thing through the app that you wouldn’t need to find some other source that’s circumventing that.”

DRiP Haus is one of the most active platforms hosted on the Solana blockchain network. Earlier this year in 2024, the platform peaked at 160,000 daily active wallets. However, the heavy network congestion on the Solana blockchain, in April, hampered the user experience.

As a result, DRiP Haus also navigated its working pattern while replacing automatic collectible airdrops with a manual claim process. Even though the collectibles are displayed on the platform, users need to choose in order to mint them on the platform.
