OpenSea, the Ethereum-based popular marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), announced the launch of Solana Launchpad on the platform. Under this launchpad experience, creators will be able to mint NFTs from start to end.
OpenSea said that they will also help creators navigate through all pre-mint activities. It will help in minting for their community and supporters as well as with all post-mint and secondary sales. In addition, users will get the option to add allowlist features. The announcement noted:
“We believe in a multi-chain future where people on OpenSea have access to NFTs across a vast number of blockchains. In the last year, Solana has emerged among the top blockchains for NFTs, and we share their vision of a scalable and inclusive NFT ecosystem.”
The Solana Launchpad will also focus on enhancing the collectors’ experience. The goal is to provide the best Solana-centric NFT experience wherein assets will stay in users’ wallets as they are listed. Similarly, new Solana collections will automatically appear on its page while users can top up their payments with fiat pays at the checkout.
Starting With Two Solana Creators
OpenSea said that they are excited to start this project with two Solana creators. The two projects are titled Zoonies and Monkai which will be dropped ahead this week.
- Zoonies: The cute mutants are one of the most developed civilizations living on planet Zoom. “Zoonies lore tells stories of these aliens, who chose to stay isolated on their planet for thousands of years, until recently allowing humans to visit for the first time”. Starting July 20, 8,888 Zoonies will be available on OpenSea. Zoonies utility will include a playable arcade, 2D metaverse and much more.
- Monkai: This is a narrative-driven NFT project which brings together community building, innovative utility, and an epic metaverse gaming experience. By acquiring Monkai NFTs, individuals can participate in the creation of Monkai anime narrative. Besides, they can access utility through Monkai DAO. This collection shall be available on OpenSea starting July 26.
The OpenSea NFT marketplace has been currently sailing through a tough time. Earlier this week, OpenSea announced that it is parting with 20% of its staff citing unfavorable market conditions.
