In his latest interview, Snoop Dogg revealed his views on Bitcoin and crypto and explained why he’s a strong believer in this technology. He also talked about his love for non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Popular media personality and rapper Snoop Dogg recently appeared on an interview with Vanity Fair last Friday, April 2. Snoop Dogg has been an active proponent of meme crypto Dogecoin (DOGE).

However, during the interview, the rapper hinted at launching his own cryptocurrency in the future. Drawing parallels between his professional name and Dogecoin, the rapper added that journalist Nick Bilton was “damn right” in predicting a Doggcoin or a Snoopcoin one day. “Is d-o-g-g similar to d-o-g-e?” asked Snoop.

Apart from Dogecoin, Snopp Dogg is quite actively involved in the NFT game for quite some time. The rapper is planning for another NFT token through Crypto.com. However, he added that his recent NFT won’t be his indigenous contribution. Previously, Snoop Dogg sold his own versions of tokens as NFTs. The offering involves a tokenized version of the artwork featuring “Snoop Dogge coins”. This is just an NFT representation and not a true cryptocurrency.

The Snoop Dogg NFT has a picture of the dog on one side and three gold coins on the other side. Besides it also has a recording of Snoop saying he is “all about those Snoop Dogge Coins, dog”. So far, users have reportedly purchased nearly 3000 versions of the Snoop Dogg NFT. During during the interview, Snoop Dogg said:

“The NFT explosion hit fast. There are still a lot of people out there who don’t know about it, or just don’t get it. They will though. It’s a big moment and a big technology that is changing the way artists do business and connect with our fans. I am excited about it, ya dig? I’m happy to participate in the movement. I’m definitely gonna bring more attention to the game. Cut me in, or cut it out.”

Snoop Dogg on Crypto and Bitcoin

Snoop Dogg has been investing in the tech space for a long time now. When asked if he believes in crypto or Bitcoin, he said “One hundred”.

“I believe in it. I believe in the technology and I believe in the global connection it creates. I’m not too caught up in the value of the coin, because I’ve been around long enough to see things go up and go down, and I know it’s here to stay”.

Snoop Dogg said that the future is unfolding right before us. Thus he doesn’t just see it as a pandemic fad! “The pandemic just put gas on the fire,” he added.
