MonkeyLeague plans to launch its initial MonkeyPlayer NFT breeding season in cooperation with AC Millan.

Italian professional football club AC Milan has partnered with strategy-based esports game MonkeyLeague on NFT gaming. The football club announced its new relationship with the Web3 football game. It noted that MonkeyLeague has become its NFT Gaming Partner. The football game is on the Solana blockchain and it allows users to develop and manage their own dream team. Players build a team of at least six Money Player NFTs, including striker, midfielder, defender, and goalkeeper. This team then plays against real players and gets in the league ranks just as in real-world football matches. Players use the in-game currency MonkeyBucks ($MBS) and in-game assets that are available even out of the game.

MonkeyLeague and AC Milan’s union on NFT gaming is part of the football game’s mission to link Web2 to Web3. On the other hand, the football club is also seizing the opportunity to create a unique digital experience for its fans while expanding its Web 3 initiative. With this development, Milan fans will have more access and a closer relationship with their club of interest.

AC Milan and MonkeyLeague Partner

AC Milan highlighted the expectations of its “new wide-ranging, strategic and design” collaboration with MonkeyLeague. Under the deal, the joint venture will create exclusive Rossoneri-branded NFT game assets and wearables. The Web3 football game and Italian champions will work together to roll out a new collection of AC Milan branded NFT game assets. These would include MonkeyPlayers, skins, and stadiums. The first and exclusive batch of the collection will auction on the NFT marketplace MagicEden, and the highest bidders will win the NFTs. The partnership will further birth co-marketing events, special game tournaments, and more diverse initiatives that players would find exciting.

The chief revenue officer of AC Milan, Casper Stylsvig, noted:

“We are thrilled to kick off this partnership with MonkeyLeague, a collaboration that allows us to strengthen our positioning in the field of digital innovation. We are particularly proud to be the first football club to partner with MonkeyLeague, bringing this game to our supporters around the world and offering them a new innovative way to engage with their favourite team.”

Furthermore, MonkeyLeague plans to launch its initial MonkeyPlayer NFT breeding season in cooperation with AC Millan. AC Millan braided assets can also come out randomly via the breeding process. There would be more NFTs, such as in-game stadiums. MonkeyLeague will also enjoy AC Milan sponsoring a few high-profile esports tournaments. The head of marketing & partnerships at the esports game, Oren Langberg, commented:

“Partnering with champions like AC Milan, an absolute iconic Club throughout footballs history, is another testament to what we are building and where we are headed as a game and a game studio. It also represents a key step in our plans to bridge the Web2 and Web3 worlds.”
