Dubai Hotel to Allow Guests to Pay with Crypto

Following the partnership with Binance, anyone can now use Binance Coin (BNB), Bitcoin (BTC), or Ethereum (ETH) to book rooms in The Manor Hotel by JA. Also, guests can use crypto to pay for services rendered by the Dubai hotel. According to the hotel’s Managing Partner Hanif Al-Qassim, virtual assets tally with The Manor’s vision for “sustainability and digital transformation.”

The Manor’s official website says the gateways comply with security measures for the protection of consumers and business owners’ rights. Binance will facilitate crypto payments by guests.

The Regional Head of Binance in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Richard Teng, commented:

“Binance has been actively engaging established local businesses and institutions to further increase the adoption of crypto for our users and the crypto community as a whole. Our partnership with leading, innovative businesses, such as JA are in line with our vision to enhance crypto adoption across the region.”

Many Dubai Food and Beverages service operators have adopted crypto payments over time. Moreso, there is a high possibility of more operators joining the team as the regulatory framework unfolds.

More Industry Players Adopt Crypto Payments

Aside from Dubai, there has been a wide acceptance of crypto for goods in the last few months. Luxury and supercar distributor EuroSports Global has begun to accept cryptocurrency for goods. The luxury car distributor said customers may pay for Lamborghini and Alfa Romeo cars with digital currency. The company collaborated with FomoPay to launch the crypto payment. The accepted cryptos are BTC, ETH, USD Coin (USDC), and Tether (USDT).

Similarly, the AMC Theaters chain partnered with BitPay, allowing customers to buy tickets using Dogecoin (DOGE). This came after the cinema chain accepted Bitcoin and Ethereum payments via PayPal in 2021.

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have deteriorated over the past weeks due to high inflation and the interest rate hike. The Tether crumbling also dragged many major cryptos along, raising panic among members of the crypto community. At press time, Bitcoin has lost about half of its ATH value, trading at $31,544.
