Eric Trump Favors ‘Sensible’ Crypto Regulations: Sees US as Leading Crypto Hub

Eric Trump has confirmed that Donald Trump’s administration will soon have a roadmap detailing out the implementation of digital asset regulation.

Eric Trump, the son of the 2024 president-elect Donald Trump and the executive VP of the Trump organization, has stated that the United States can become a superpower in the crypto industry, provided a sound and “sensible” digital asset regulation framework is put into place for investors and entities operating in the space.

In an interview with CNBC, Eric Trump told Dan Murphy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Monday that he was fascinated by virtual currencies and was a “big fan of crypto for a long time,” adding that the president-elect wants to “make America the crypto capital of the world” once he re-enters the White House for his second presidential run.

The statement from Trump came not long after market-leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin BTC $115 168 24h volatility: 0.9% Market cap: $2.29 T Vol. 24h: $51.52 B broke above the $100,000 price level. BTC has failed to retain price action above this region and is trading at $97,000 at the time of writing following a 2.28% price drop in the past 24 hours, according to the data from CoinMarketCap.

Donald Trump’s son highlighted the reason for his fascination with cryptocurrencies, noting that the “banking system is antiquated.” It is not long from the time when crypto will not only be on par with Traditional Finance (TradFi) but also “really leaps ahead.” He also sees the United States as the “crypto capital of the world” and fully supports the idea, unlike the previous Joe Biden administration.

Trump noted that his father, the 2024 president-elect, along with his other family members, are also firm backers of decentralized finance (DeFi), adding that it is “the way of the future.”

It is also important to note that Trump talked about the policies his father is considering when it comes to digital asset regulation. He said that his father sees a “transparent” crypto regulation being put in place under the Donald Trump administration. Trump stated that Americans have no issues with firm regulation of crypto, but are disappointed that none of the lawmakers have come up with a decent proposal to regulate crypto.

Trump also confirmed that his father’s administration will soon have a clear roadmap and expects that world leaders will follow the footsteps of the leading global economy. The ultimate goal is to turn the US into a “crypto superpower,” adding that this is the American way.

Elon Musk’s Prominent Role

Billionaire Elon Musk will play a vital role in setting the White House’s policy on various technological innovations. Eric Trump called Musk “the modern-day Albert Einstein.” Meanwhile, the new administration is focused on the creation of a “productive society,” a goal that has eluded the United States in recent years, according to Trump.

The president-elect’s son stated that Musk will play a significant role in making sure that the US does play a vital role in the crypto space and achieves the vision the Trump administration sees.
