McLaren Racing and Tezos Blockchain

Contrary to the conventional Proof of Work (PoW) algorithm used by Bitcoin and Ethereum, Tezos blockchain utilizes Proof of Stake (PoS), which is far more environmentally friendly. This technique saves the network two million times the energy used by PoW networks. In this way, the partnership will promote clean and low-energy operations with a negligible carbon footprint.

The partnership agreement includes representation of the Tezos brand on McLaren Formula 1 and Arrow McLaren SP teams. More specifically, the brand will be on the race suits of McLaren F1 drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Riccardo, and also AMSP drivers Pato O’Ward and Felix Rosenqvist.

Lindsey Eckhouse, the Director of Licensing, Ecommerce and esports for McLaren Racing spoke saying:

“TAt McLaren we are known for putting fans at the heart of everything we do, and this is another partnership which allows us to enter a space where fans can own key pieces of our team. We are looking forward to launching the platform with Tezos to create bespoke NFTs with our Formula 1, INDYCAR and esports teams.”

“As brands everywhere look to engage with their fans in new ways, Tezos, the original and fastest evolving blockchain, remains at the forefront of innovation, proving real-world solutions in a thriving and fast-growing ecosystem,” added the Chair of Tezos Foundation Hubertus Thonhauser.
