OpenAI has, however, indicated that free users should continue to enjoy ChatGPT services and feel welcome to the subscription option.

OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research and deployment company, has announced the launch of a pilot subscription plan for ChatGPT Plus, a conversational AI that can ostensibly do human-like activities including writing an essay, emails, and much more. According to the announcement, the new subscription plan, ChatGPT Plus, will be available for $20 per month in order to offer detailed and fast services.

Reportedly, ChatGPT Plus users will benefit from general access to the AI services, even during peak times. Additionally, ChatGPT Plus customers will enjoy faster response times and will be given priority access to new features and improvements.

OpenAI has noted that ChatGPT Plus is currently available to people in the United States and will begin inviting those on the waitlist in the coming weeks. However, the company has promised to avail of the ChatGPT Plus services to other countries and regions soon.

OpenAI has, however, indicated that free users should continue to enjoy ChatGPT services and feel welcome to the subscription option.

“We love our free users and will continue to offer free access to ChatGPT. By offering this subscription pricing, we will be able to help support free access available to as many people as possible,” OpenAI noted.

Future Outlook of ChatGPT Plus under OpenAI

OpenAI has indicated that ChatGPT was launched as a research preview to learn more about the system’s strengths and weaknesses. As such, the company can gather user feedback to help improve its limitations. The movement has gathered millions of people with its official Twitter account has amassed over 1.3 million followers.

ChatGPT has seen vast use cases including editing content, brainstorming ideas, computer programming help, and also learning new topics. As such, the company has announced plans to reduce costs in the future and make ChatGPT available to more users.

The company has also made financial commitments to other startups in the AI industry amounting to $100 million. However, it is the internal pressure to turn ChatGPT profitable by the end of the year, after a multi-billion dollar investment from Microsoft and other investors, that has pushed several new features lately.

As a result, the company has advertised several open positions including engineering, operations, people, finance, and policy to join the rest of the team in San Francisco.

The future of artificial intelligence is meant to drive the revenues of most tech companies to fight competition. Reportedly, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) is working to incorporate ChatGPT tech into Bing in the coming weeks in a move that would make the search engine more competitive with Google.
