Operating the Truth Social media app is bound to come with its good and bad times, both of which can turn out well if TMTG is able to steer the new app’s affairs well.

Truth Social, the yet-to-be-released social media messaging application owned by former President of the United States Donald Trump, has made it to the Beta testing stages with hundreds of testers already profiled. As reported by Reuters citing the app’s Chief Executive Officer, Devin Nunes, the application is on track to be rolled out by the end of March this year.

There is no doubt that social media platforms are some of the most powerful communication tools today. The existing players in the field including Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR), Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: FB), and Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ: GOOGL) are oftentimes accused of extreme censorship, thus suppressing what most critics calls “freedom of expression.”

Twitter, Facebook, and Alphabet’s YouTube banned Donald Trump about a year ago, citing some polarizing insinuations by the former president in relation to the last Presidential elections. With the American leader still exiled from the social media sites where he has millions of followers, the president, through the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) is promising an “engaging and censorship-free experience” through the Truth Social media application.

The UI features of the app look familiar when compared to that of Twitter according to screenshots of President Trump’s first message on the app, shared on Twitter by his son, Donald Trump Jr. The message reads:

“Get Ready! Your favorite President will see you soon!”

Per the observations made from the screenshot, Truth Social has a retweet-like feature dubbed ‘re-truths’ and the account verification badge is Red in place of the Blue Twitter uses. Users of the app can comment on a past, like, and share, implying the experiences Truth Social will provide will take very close similarities to that of Twitter.

The TMTG startup behind the application said it has just released an updated version, “Truth Social 0.9.” With this new version, it is reportedly testing for bug fixes for “re-truths, image aspect ratios and compression, improved error handling and account creation.”

Good and Bad Tales Awaits Truth Social

Operating the Truth Social media app is bound to come with its good and bad times, both of which can turn out well if TMTG is able to steer the new app’s affairs well.

The bad tales consist of the likely challenges the app might face being hosted on both the Google Play Store as well as the Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) AppStore. This is because the prevention of censorship might usher in a lot of radical thinkers that might propound related controversies that made the social media unicorns ban President Trump from their platforms earlier.

The good part of the Truth Social app is that it is already receiving a warm welcome from some of the testers. According to one of the testers, Wayne Dupree, founder of WayneDupree.com and host of a conservative podcast said he believes Truth Social will project his true personality more than Twitter ever would.

“I want my followers to see I am more than politics and I feel Truth Social is going to allow my audience to see me as Twitter purposely does not,” said he.

Accolades such as this will definitely give the Truth Social App a soft landing upon launch.
