While Musk secures his position as the richest person on earth, Bezos’s net worth has shifted to the second.

Elon Musk has climbed the ladder and now sits at the top rung in the race of billionaire rankings. As the Founder and Chief-Executive Officer of Tesla and SpaceX, Musk is presently the richest person in the world. Even more surprisingly, the net worth of Elon Musk currently is equal to the net worth of Bill Gates, Microsoft co-founder, and Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, combined. Musk’s net worth is at a whopping $230 Billion as of Friday morning, according to a report by Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

While Musk enjoys his position at the top, Gates resides in fourth place with $130 Billion, while Buffett is at the tenth position with $102 Billion. A while ago, Gates and Buffett also held the title as fierce American Business magnates. Musk overtook Amazon ex-Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bezos‘s position as the world’s richest man in January this year. His net worth was estimated at $185 billion then.

Musk has succeeded in creating more value and fortune for himself by raising around $60 Billion from Tesla’s impressive performance. The recent share sale at SpaceX also raised the company’s valuation to $100 Billion. The SpaceX deal turned out great for the American entrepreneur as it contributed around eleven Billion USD to Musk’s net worth.

While Elon Musk secures his position as the richest person on earth, Bezos’s net worth has shifted to the second. Bezos held the top position since 2017 and has been on the receiving end of funny Twitter banter when Musk tweeted a silver medal emoji at the Amazon executive. Bezos holds the second position with a $191 net worth.

Gates and Buffett are known for their philanthropic activities and have been famous for giving away hundreds of billions of dollars to charity. It is true that had they not given away huge amounts of their money in philanthropy, they might have been closer to Musk in the list of richest people. However, Elon Musk, on many occasions, has been criticized for not contributing to the charitable cause even with his enormous wealth.

Elon Musk claims that he has been involved in philanthropy, however, he likes to remain anonymous with his donations. At the beginning of this year, he had asked his Twitter followers for “critical feedback” on different ways he could donate his fortune.

By the end of 2021, Musk has promised to donate around $150 Million, which includes a $100 Million Prize in a carbon removal contest. This donation by the American business tycoon is said to be greater than all his past donations.
