Another milestone for a major player in the social network space, Chingari, the Indian giant video streaming service that leverages the blockchain to reward both its users and content creators has now listed its native $GARI token on the OKEx exchange. It will make its tokens available solely to OKEx’s South Asian users.

Chingari has broken the mold when it comes to social media, successfully integrating into the Indian market just as TikTok was ordered to stop offering its platform to the region on the grounds of security. Chingari swept in and literally took over a ripe market of millions of users and content creators that had been left in the dark by TikTok’s expulsion from the country.

While Chingari provides a platform to allow content creators to connect with their followers, much like TikTok, in contrast Chingari has incorporated the use of the Solana blockchain to create a climate that rewards users for their engagement with influencers. The more they engage, the more they are incentivized.  This takes the focus off of the video creators in traditional contexts, whereby they monetize by promoting products or featuring in video advertising.

Chingari rewards content creators too of course and gives them full rights and ownership over their own content. It also makes stores available to creators who can sell their own merchandise to their fans.

$GARI Native to Solana Chain

Chingari first launched its native $GARI token in late 2021 at an event which was hosted by one of India’s most famous Bollywood stars Salman Khan. Khan is Chingari’s brand ambassador and encapsulates the ideals that the platform is achieving. The platform plays host to many Bollywood stars and Indian celebrities who have their own channels there, some with as many as 10 million followers.

The $GARI is based on the Solana blockchain, one which is known for speed, competitive fees and scalability. This seems a good match for a platform, which has millions of active users, and is growing fast.

From 04:00 UTC on Jan 18, 2022, 5 million $GARI tokens will be listed on the OKEx site for users across India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. These will be made available on the OKEx Jumpstart platform at a unit price of 0.2 $USDT per coin. Each user will be able to purchase a minimum of 1 $GARI and a maximum of 7,500 $GARI per person. When the token sale finishes $GARI will be available for trading against other crypto pairs on the platform from 13:00 UTC.
