Shanghai-based internet company and online game operator, The9 Limited has announced a functional partnership between its NFT community and trading platform NFTSTAR and NR SPORTS, a company specialized in image management, exclusively acting in Neymar Jr’s career.
Through the partnership, NFTSTAR will develop, sell, and trade NFT collectibles that are authorized by NR Sports, and this will be made available to Neymar’s fans around the world. The deal will further advance the core goals of NFT technology which is to register the ownership of digital collectibles, and in this case, important highlights of Neymar’s footballing career on the blockchain.
A Peak into Neymar’s Footballing Pedigree
While Neymar Jr currently plays for French Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), his popularity and talent were first showcased at Brazilian side, Santos FC. While at Santos, the veteran footballer was named as the South American Footballer of the Year, in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
After his spell at Santos, Neymar moved to Europe where he played for Barcelona from 2013 to 2017. He was a key part of the Barca team that won the treble of domestic league, domestic cup, and European Cup in the 2014-15 season, and finished third for the FIFA Ballon d’Or in 2015 for his performances. Neymar Jr moved to PSG in 2017 where he has also contributed immensely to the growth of the club. He led the Ligue 1 giants to win many trophies and also helped them reach the Champions League finals in the 2019-20 season.
Neymar’s performance in Brazil is also on record, climbing up the ranks as he scored a goal for Brazil in the 10th qualification game back in September and became Brazil’s all-time top scorer in FIFA World Cup qualification matches, with 12 in total. Neymar was named as the Player of the Tournament at the 2021 Copa América. The 29-year old football star remains one of the most decorated players currently in active club and country engagement.
Neymar Jr’s Best Moments: A Good Economics for NFTSTAR
In conjunction with NR Sports and the in-house NFTSTAR designers, artists, and creators will be developing digital collections, including video, animation, and other digital artworks, which will record the highlights of Neymar Jr’s career and personal growth. As the company announced:
“Digital collectibles will be offered with limited number on NFTSTAR platform. Each NFT collectible has a unique record on the blockchain, and the users will obtain the ownership of the unique NFT collectible through purchase on the platform, or through trading on NFTSTAR’s marketplace. NFTSTAR will accept general payment methods such as credit cards to make it easy for global users to participate.”
The Neymar integration into the NFTSTAR ecosystem solidifies the platform’s staunch approach to onboard other footballing icons and celebrity entertainers amongst others. The idea is to develop a robust ecosystem where these personalities’ best career moments can be digitized and infused in today’s economic-focused NFT metaverse.
