Web3 dating seems to be a rather new and intriguing concept as people start to saturate from the tedious Tinder and Bumble swiping games.

American media personality Paris Hilton has long expressed her love for the metaverse. The forty-one-year-old socialite has, therefore, come up with a new concept that will be launched on The Sandbox game called Parisland.

Parisland by Paris Hilton will be a platform for her fans to find love in the metaverse and will be introduced as a dating experience.

In a statement from Sandbox Chief Operating Officer and co-founder Sebastien Borget, Parisland’s design was curated to nurture real relationships and interactions with players. It was built in conjunction with Hilton’s 11:11 Media. The company’s Web3 and metaverse strategy lead Cynthia Miller believes that the users will be able to make strong, organic, romantic connections during the experience, reiterating that the vision is to allow people to find love.

The Sandbox is developed on Polygon and has several celebrities like rapper Snoop Dogg and electronic musician deadmau5 purchasing expensive virtual lands in the metaverse to open their own enterprises. One interesting thing about The Sandbox is that while it might seem like the entire metaverse is curated for kids, the Terms and Conditions clearly state that the users should be over the age of eighteen.

Sandbox runs using the native ERC-20 token SAND, which experienced a downward trend of 85% in the past year but has risen by 42% in the last month.

Web3 dating seems to be a rather new and intriguing concept as people start to saturate from the tedious Tinder and Bumble swiping games. However, there have been several reports of the unceremonious harassment that could take place in Metaverse. Data from the Center for Countering Digital Hate estimates that “violating incidents” take place in a VR Chat once every seven minutes.

Paris Hilton, who also happens to be the great-granddaughter of the founder of Hilton Hotels, Conrad Hilton, had previously partnered with Roblox to launch the Paris World. This is a virtual ecosystem created for Hilton’s Halloween which was titled “Cryptoween”. It also enabled users to try virtual makeup looks offered by L’oréal’s Urban Decay Brand. Hilton has also introduced a Cryptoween experience in the Sandbox.

The recent collaboration takes Hilton’s partnership with Sandbox to another level after introducing Malibu Mansion in August last year. The digital space allows her to connect with the fans in the metaverse by hosting social events. The celebrity’s association with Sandbox goes a few months back when the firm offered her an Official Sandbox avatar and parcels of LAND themed around fashion, music, and animals.
