Space, a commerce virtual world that enables creatives to make their own virtual store, subscription room, or ticketed event with VR properties, has announced the release of the Alpha version of its Metaverse.
After six months of hard work, Space has introduced a series of benefits to its Alpha platform so that users can develop an immersive experience of metaverse commerce, a sector that is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of double digits for the next 10 years.
With this first version of the platform, users will be able to create rooms with more than a dozen free Room Templates, enjoy audio/video/chat features, add 3D models with Sketchfab, upload multimedia files, embed Youtube videos, and add GIFs, among other features currently available in its Alpha version.
Users can join Space from a desktop app, web page or a VR headset, making Space’s metaverse very accessible. Its interface allows you to connect to a number of varied spaces, ranging from concert halls to art rooms. The team has noted that its Alpha version has hosted the connection of around 10,000+ users during its launch.
About the launch of the Alpha version, Batis Samadian, Founder and CEO of the Space Metaverse commented:

The Alpha version of Space Metaverse includes main features that distinguish this project from other similar ones such as high end graphics, easy-to-use build tools, and facilities to monetize creations through integrated commerce functionalities such as the purchase of products with fiat money.

On December 22, Space Metaverse announced that it raised $7 million from strategic investors from major blockchain venture capital funds such as Dapper Labs, Animoca Brands, and Digital Currency Group, among other investors.
