Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc (NYSE: SPCE) stock jumped as much as 32 percent on Tuesday, February 15, and closed the day trading at $10.74. On February 15, Virgin Galactic announced that ticket sales will open to the general public starting today. Thereby, providing the public with an opportunity to purchase one of the initial spaceflight reservations and secure membership in the unique community of Future Astronauts.

“At Virgin Galactic, we believe that space is transformational,” said Virgin Galactic CEO Michael Colglazier. “We plan to have our first 1,000 customers on board at the start of commercial service later this year, providing an incredibly strong foundation as we begin regular operations and scale our fleet.”

Virgin Galactic and Its Space Trip Ticket Sales

The approval to the aerospace and space travel company comes at a crucial time after a series of failed test flights and several postponed space flights. Additionally, it follows major investors’ share sell-off including the company’s management.

Notably, the company’s management has fluctuated in prices, thereby giving its competitors a vantage point.

“We have developed a compelling and effective sales process to support the growth of our commercial business,” said Blair Rich, President, and Chief Business Officer, Commercial and Consumer Operations. “A global, commercial spaceline demands an iconic and timeless brand. It is important that our brand represents our dynamic customer offering, and speaks to our unique experience, style, and service.”

The flight is described by its uniqueness that astronauts get to enjoy before returning to the earth. Nevertheless, critics have argued the few minutes of out-of-seat weightlessness and breathtaking views of Earth from the spaceship’s 17 windows should be added.

“During spaceflight, astronauts will experience a 90-minute journey including a signature air launch and Mach-3 boost to space,” the company noted in a press release.

According to the company, astronauts are expected to make a positive impact upon return from space. Moreover, the positive vibes can only come from seeing our beautiful planet from space, according to Virgin Galactic.
