Cardano’s parent company IOHK announced the platform’s most significant update – Shelley mainnet – which brings a ton of new capabilities and architecture in addition to new PoS staking capabilities.
The biggest upgrade to the Cardano blockchain is due to begin rolling out today with the release of the “Shelley” code. The upgrade will make the blockchain more decentralized and scalable.
Vitalik Buterin has revealed that there are some things developers could have made better from the start. For example, he has noted that the idea of gas fees could have been improved.
Charles Hoskinson has announced the launch date for the Cardano Shelley update. The Cardano Shelley mainnet hard fork will take place on 29 July 2020, the first ADA staking rewards in the mainnet can be earned from 18 August.
With its Shelley update the completion of which is a real milestone, Cardano is now one step closer to its main goal – full decentralization.
