TRON’s CEO Justin Sun surprised everyone when he postponed his $4.56 million charity lunch with Warren Buffett. Now he apologized for his own conduct saying his own “selfishness” and “immature words and deeds” detracted from the effort.

TRX is carefully lifting off the ground after its CEO Justin Sun apologized for “over-marketing” TRON to Chinese authorities yesterday when he postponed charity lunch with Warren Buffett.

As we already wrote yesterday, after, due to his kidney stones problems, TRON’s CEO Justin Sun had to cancel the charity lunch with Warren Buffett – some conspiracy theories came to the sight.

Some Chinese media said that he was arrested due to illegal fundraising and some said that he was forbidden to leave China. None of this was true since Sun posted a photo from San Francisco saying he’s feeling much better.

However, today he obviously had the need to apologize so in his statement he put on Weibo he apologized for “vulgar hype and marketing behavior.” The message said:

“Dear Friends, In the past few weeks, I had my darkest moment with sickness and tiredness. I suffered the biggest drama ever in my life from people’s doubting and questioning. I didn’t sleep all night yesterday, and deeply reflected on my memories and was introspective for my behavior and words—I felt ashamed for my over-marketing. I want to deeply apologize to the public, media, leaders, and the related regulatory authority who cared about me.”

He went on, on how he bought the Warren Buffett lunch because he admires him and has a huge passion for charity. Also, he admitted that in that way he wanted to promote blockchain-related business but, because of his “immature words, behavior, youth, and vigor”, he spoke without thinking twice. He said that he forgot that he was a public figure and now regrets the whole process.

Referring to Chinese media writings about him being taken to custody by the Chinese government he said that in the future he is willing to get the best media teachers in the business and engage in transparent, authentic, impartial, and unreserved exchanges with the news media site Caixin.

He added that he will start to be more open to the regulators who actively introduce structure and industry development to the sector, and will actively cooperate with the regulatory agencies for guidance He also said that he will do his best to meet requirements, to maintain timely responses, and establish long-term communication.

If that wasn’t enough, one of the most eager social networks proponents now said he will reduce his vocalizations on Weibo, reduce the media interviews, and translate all the research and development from marketing hype to true blockchain technology. He ended his letter saying:

“During the whole process, I went from being excited, to worried, agonized and then terrified and regretful. … It led to a negative influence on the public and also drew concerns from regulators who care about me. Again I want to say: I am sorry.”

TRON is currently ranked at #11 on CoinMarketCap. The price of TRX was, at the time of writing, $0.0236 according to the latest data. The price jumped by 2.25% in the span of the past 24-hours. The supply has 66,682,072,191 TRX tokens in play. The trading volume recorded is $648,358 million. The total market cap of TRON is $1.579 billion.

Warren Buffett’s spokesperson said that Buffett “is not commenting on anything in respect to Justin Sun.” Glide Foundation, the charity behind the Buffett lunch, tweeted on Tuesday that it has received the full donation from Sun.
