Chinese tech company Xiaomi has launched several new smartphones via its flagship 12S lineup, new Book Pro computers and Mi Band 7 Pro.

Xiaomi recently introduced a trio of new smartphones fitted with advanced tech offerings, all part of its new 12S lineup. The company’s new products comprise the standard 12S, the more advanced 12S Pro, as well as the range-topping 12S Ultra models.

Xiaomi also launched its smartwatch-influenced Mi Band 7 Pro as well as its Book Pro laptop models.

Xiaomi Standard 12S

Introduced in China, Xiaomi’s entry-level 12S measures 152.7 x 69.9 x 8.16 mm and weighs between 179 g and 182 g. The weight of the smartphone ultimately depends on its material composition – whether leather or glass back.

The higher-end Xiaomi 12S Pro and 12S Ultra models also share similar striking visual features with the standard 12S. For instance, the 12S and 12S Pro share the main camera sensor sized around 1/1.28 inches. The Ultra model also has a similarly-structured camera setup, albeit a conspicuously larger one to accommodate the phone’s larger size.

All three Xiaomi 12S models are the company’s first-ever products to feature imaging technologies and software co-developed with Leica. This also allows for 10-bit RAW image capture with calibration by Adobe Labs. Consequently, all Xiaomi 12S iterations are capable of embedding color correction metadata in the files. As a result, Adobe Lightroom will be able to automatically optimize the images, thus potentially boosting photographer shot post-processing.

The entry-level Xiaomi 12S sports a 6.28-inch display with HDR10+, P3 color gamut support, and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The smartphone also has several other features, including an under-display fingerprint scanner and Harman Kardon-tuned stereo speakers. Users with the 12S can charge it using a USB-C port.

The standard 12S also runs on a new performance powertrain. This includes a new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and an Adreno 730 GPU. Additionally, the 12S has up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Xiaomi 12S Pro & 12S Ultra

The step-up Xiaomi 12S Pro comes sporting the same 6.73-inch AMOLED display as the Ultra variant. The smartphone’s screen also features 2K resolution, P3 color gamut support, and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Also, like the standard 12S, the 12S Pro has an under-display fingerprint sensor and Harman Kardon-tuned stereo speakers. Furthermore, both phones also sport similar performance powertrains. However, the 12S Pro has a 512GB UFS 3.1 storage capacity instead.

The top-of-the-line Xiaomi 12S Ultra is physically the largest of the lot, sporting a massive 6.73-inch OLED display. Furthermore, the range-topping smartphone also features a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 system on a chip. It also has a prominent camera-lens-shaped bulge that takes up space on the phone’s rear.

The 12S Ultra sports three cameras ranging between 48 and 50 megapixels and is also IP68 water and dust resistant. Additionally, the premium device comes with a large 4,860 mAh battery, 67W wired fast charging, and a 120Hz refresh rate display.

All three 12S variants will reportedly launch in China, with prices ranging from $600 for the 12S, to $1,050 for the 12S Ultra. Last year, Xiaomi announced that it will begin accepting crypto payments in Portugal.

Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro

Xiaomi also launched its Mi Band 7 Pro wearable device, which features a heavy smartwatch design. Unveiled alongside the 12S Ultra smartphone, the Mi Band 7 Pro monitors blood oxygen, sleep, and heart rate. Furthermore, the wearable device can also last up to 12 days on a single charge. It went on sale in China with a price tag of $60.

Xiaomi Book Pro Models

Lastly, Xiaomi launched a new laptop series – the Xiaomi Book Pro 2022. The new notebook comes in 14-inch and 16-inch models, and features several groundbreaking functionalities. Some of these include a self-developed 3D LUT color correction algorithm and the company’s flagship E4 OLED screen.

Pricing for the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 2022 starts at $881 for the Intel Core i5 version. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Book Pro 16 2022 Intel Core i5 version comes priced at $1,105. Both models will go on sale in China from July 8th via Xiaomi, JD.com, and Pinduoduo channels.
