Warner Music Group unveiled the new job roles for its metaverse expansion shortly after its recent partnership with NFT marketplace OpenSea.

Entertainment Warner Music Group is also making a foray into the exploding metaverse market with job postings. The American multinational entertainment and record labeled conglomerate is looking to hire at least two experts who can work on web-related projects.

Warner Music Group Expands into Metaverse

According to the job advert on LinkedIn, Warner Music Group is seeking a senior director to work full-time on metaverse development. The company wants applicants who are sound in the gaming ecosystem and interested in metaverse and blockchain. Also, the second job opening is about business strategy with web3, metaverse, and gaming. As the director of project management, the candidate must have about 4-6 years of relevant working experience. The group also wrote that applicants must possess “strong knowledge of the gaming ecosystem and interest in metaverse and blockchain concepts.”

The new employees will be an addition to the continuous effort of the Warner Music Group in expanding its web3 ecosystem and metaverse projects. In April, the company announced that it had enlisted Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda as Community Innovation Advisor. The entertainment company revealed that it onboarded Shinoda to help the company’s “artist-centric approach to Web3.”

Further into the announcement, WMG noted that it has always been supporting web3 and metaverse experiences. Again, in September, the group welcomed Niels Walboomers as Benelux’s records and publishing president. Walboomers said in a statement that he hoped to “broaden the range of talent we work with even further and be super innovative about we connect them with fans in the we3 era.”

WMG’s Partnership with OpenSea

Notably, Warner Music Group unveiled the new job roles for its metaverse expansion shortly after its recent partnership with NFT marketplace OpenSea. The collaboration for NFT drops will increase music fan engagement. Also, Warner Music Group artists could have a platform for building and extending their lovers in web3. The artist will have personal drop pages to host limited-edition projects. OpenSea’s VP of product, Shiva Rajaraman, commented on the partnership, saying:

“For artists and musicians, NFTs represent a new creative medium and a mechanism to build community, engage directly with fans, and express themselves across borders and languages. As a massive music fan myself, I’m thrilled to work with a partner who understands the significance of this technology, and wants to use it for good – to empower artists to own their fan connections directly. We’re excited to provide the support and infrastructure to help welcome the Warner family of artists into the exciting NFT ecosystem.”

Apart from Warner Music Group, more entertainment companies are debuting into Web3 and metaverse. Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) posted an NFT and DeFi-related job listing last month.
