Yesnoerror uses AI to detect errors in research papers, aiming to prevent the spread of misinformation.
Reid Hoffman praised the project’s approach, emphasizing its potential impact on scientific integrity.
The YNE token saw a sharp price increase following Hoffman’s endorsement, reversing a previous decline.
yesnoerror, an AI-powered research auditing project, has received support from LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, leading to a more than 80% surge in the value of its native token (YNE). The project, which operates on the Solana blockchain, aims to enhance scientific accuracy by detecting errors in research papers.
Hoffman acknowledged his long-standing interest in the initiative, praising the co-founder Matt Schlicht and the yesnoerror team for their innovative approach to using AI and blockchain to ensure research integrity.
Have been a supporter of this project for a while––Matt & team at $YNE are exploring a great use of AI agent+token to provide a tangible public good (auditing research). Excited to see the experiment grow. https://t.co/m6MO3DVBOf
The YNE token’s trading volume has surged by more than 174% in the last 24 hours, indicating that the token is gaining significant interest. The price of the token had been depreciating since February 4, dropping to $0.02. However, Hoffman’s comment has reignited interest in the token, causing it to spike.
yesnoerror Expands Capabilities and Industry Partnerships
yesnoerror is designedto address scientific misinformation, which can spread rapidly and mislead the public. The CEO shared a notable example that influenced its creation: a 2024 research paper claimed that black cooking utensils were dangerously toxic. The study gained widespread media coverage, prompting people to discard their utensils. However, an AI model from OpenAI later identified a critical miscalculation in under 30 seconds, revealing that the toxicity had been exaggerated tenfold.
This incident shows the need for an AI-driven auditing system to verify research before misinformation takes hold. yesnoerror has already analyzed 10,000 research papers and found errors in over 1% of them.
To scale up, the project developed a system capable of reviewing 100,000 papers per day. It also partnered with ResearchHub, a company backed by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, to verify AI-detected errors with human PhD reviewers.
Matt Schlicht revealed how the company generates revenue, saying that major corporations have expressed interest in using yesnoerror’s AI agent to audit internal research, with one $15 billion healthcare company among those in discussions.
Growing Interest in DeSci and Potential for Further Adoption
The project plans to expand its reach by prioritizing fact-checking for research that gains media attention. The team is developing an AI system that monitors news coverage for new scientific claims and aims to release research assistant AI models, refine its auditing technology, and foster a dedicated community of researchers and developers.
Interest from top tech figures, including Marc Andreessenand Chamath Palihapitiya, could attract more investors to yesnoerror, potentially driving further gains in its native token. Binance has also featured yesnoerror in its official DeSci (Decentralized Science) report and has included the YNE token on Binance Alpha.
