Steve Wozniak is a prominent tech entrepreneur best known as the co-founder of Apple. Recently it has been announced that Wozniak is now a co-founder of a venture capital fund that is built using blockchain technology called EQUI Global.

What is EQUI Global

EQUI Global is an Ethereum-based venture capital fund that is aimed at allowing investors to discover, examine and invest in a wide range of new business opportunities. The investments are to be made with a token called EquiToken. What is more, investors are also able to sell their EquiTokens on external crypto exchanges at any time they wish to do it.

Though since the very beginning of his business career, Wozniak has refused to accept a great number of business proposals like that, he has agreed to team up with EQUI founder Doug Barrowman and EQUI co-founder Baroness Michelle Mone OBE to create a new fund that is expected to revolutionize the venture capital industry.

Steve Wozniak will be the head of technology investments and will also help to discover the most promising tech projects that can really change the world. Wozniak will help to choose the most successful startups the creators of which will be mentored by the board of experienced serial entrepreneurs.

It is expected that nearly 80 per cent of investment by EQUI will be allocated for the development of technology projects while 20 per cent will be used to help non-tech projects developed in such spheres as real estate, for example.

Commenting the main ideas of EQUI Global Steve Wozniak, its co-founder stated:

“I get ideas pitched to me every single day in fact dozens and I always say no. Since I co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs, this is about the second time in twenty years that I actually said yes, I want to be a part of this. It has to be something I really believe in and I really believe in EQUI.”

Without any doubts, support of such a starry businessman as Wozniak is a great success for the fund. According to his words, Wozniak is also quite excited about his new position:

“We’ve already got over 20 businesses that we are looking at and we haven’t even officially launched yet. It’s going to be very exciting. Ultimately, our mission is to seek, support and fund the blockchain and tech stars of tomorrow.”

Wozniak’s Stance Towards Cryptocurrencies

Steve Wozniak has been a long time Bitcoin evangelist.  It is known that he first bought Bitcoin when it was traded for $700, nevertheless, he never wanted to become a crypto investor, he was just extremely interested in how the crypto worked. He has even expressed his hope that one day this cryptocurrency will become a single global currency replacing the U.S. Dollar.

In August, he decided to become a part of the blockchain ecosystem and joined an investment-focused cryptocurrency startup called Equi Capital. It was one of his steps towards co-founding EQUI Global.
