Apple to Host Major Event on Tuesday: iPhone 15 and USB-C to Take Center Stage

Apple shares continued with YTD’s bullish outlook with the launch of iPhone 15 which is meant to boost sales of its smartphone global shipments.

One of the highest-valued tech companies around the world with a market capitalization of about $2.79 trillion, Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL), is preparing to launch several new products on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. With millions of Apple enthusiasts expected to join in through the online streaming services, experts being the tech giant will launch the next series of the iPhone amid changing regulatory frameworks. According to hardware analysts led by Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is likely to release two sizes of the iPhone 15 on Tuesday. Based on the performance of prior products, hardware experts believe Apple will release one iPhone with a screen size of about 6.1 inches, and another with about 6.7 inches.

As a result, Apple shares crept up 0.29 percent during the after-hours after closing Friday trading around $178.18, up approximately 37 percent YTD.

iPhone 15 and Other Products Expected to Be Presented at the Apple Event

Earlier in June this year, Apple held its famous event WWDC. During the event, the tech giant unveiled several new products including Apple Vision Pro, 15-inch MacBook Air with M2, Mac Pro with M2 Ultra, and previews of iOS 17, among others. During Tuesday’s event, Apple is expected to focus on the iPhone’s next series in a bid to boost struggling global smartphone shipments.

During this year’s iPhone series updates, Apple is expected to adhere to the European Union’s regulatory guidelines on universal charger type-c (USB-C). The transition to the type-c charger is expected to increase iPhone sales across different markets, more so in Europe. Furthermore, the company has experienced significant competition from China and Korea-made smartphones including Huawei.

Notably, Apple will be ending its dependence on its lightning charging system after almost a decade with billions of hardware products in the market. The company is also expected to focus on camera and chip improvements in a bid to seamlessly host high bandwidth applications including the web3 gaming industry. Interestingly, the company could give the highest iPhone trims an upgrade in casing from stainless steel to titanium in a bid to cut on the overall weight.

The tech giant is also expected to give its watch series a new upgrade pertaining to the chip to enhance its performance. Notably, the company launched the Series 8 in September last year. According to hardware experts, Apple’s AirPods Pro could get a new feature that does not require Adaptive Audio. Reportedly, the new AirPod Pro will tap on machine learning and software to intelligently control the volume and noise cancellation to enable users to be aware of the surrounding environment.

Other notable improvements will focus on the iOS 17, in a bid to enable Apple products to tap into Artificial Intelligence seamlessly.
