Apple Unveils New Products: iPad, iMac, AirTag and Purple iPhone

After Apple unveiled its new products, the company’s shares fell nearly 2% and closed with a 1.28% fall.

American technology giant Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) has announced a range of new products at its first product launch event in 2021. Apple held its first product launch of the year on the 20th of April. At the event, the company unveiled a new iMac that comes in seven colors and a new 5G-enabled iPad Pro equipped with an M1 chip. Additionally, the tech giant announced a refreshed Apple TV 4K with a new remote and an AirTag lost-device tracking gadget. Apple also announced a purple iPhone 12 and its podcast subscription service.

Details on Apple’s New Products

According to Apple, the new iMac models will come in red, orange, blue, silver, yellow, green, and purple. These iMacs are built with Apple’s M1 silicon instead of Intel processors. Apple said the computer weighs less than 10 pounds and just about 11.5mm and has a touch ID. The new iMac models display runs at a “4.5K” resolution and have up to 2TB storage. Customers can begin to preorder by the 30th of April, and shipment will come in the second half of May. The price range is between $1,299 and $1,699.

The iPad Pros comes with an improved USB-C connector that can connect the gadget to a higher-resolution monitor. The connector will also help with faster downloads of images from a camera. Also, the iPad Pro will have a 12-megapixel front camera with ultrawide lenses. Apple added that some of the models would be 5G-enabled. As stated by the tech company, the pricing for the 11-inch model starts from $799, while the 12.9-inch model will be priced at $1,099.

As for the Apple TV 4K, the product will come with a newly-designed remote. The remote is built with aluminum and has buttons that will help users with easier navigation, compared with the earlier remotes. The new Apple TV 4K and branded remotes will cost between $169 and $199, depending on the model.

Called an iPhone accessory, Apple said the AirTag would be available in stores by the 30th of April. The new AirTag can be attached to items like keys to find them easily when they get lost. The AirTag will be available at $29 for one or $99 for four.

Apple Unveils Purple iPhone 12

The new iPhone 12 in purple color will also be available for preorder on the 23rd of April.

Furthermore, Apple said it would be launching its podcast subscription service in May. The tech company also plans to redesign its Apple Podcast app.

After Apple unveiled its new products at the Apple event, the company’s shares fell nearly 2% and closed with a 1.28% fall. The stock is currently trading with a loss of 0.4% to $132.59 in the after-hours session. Apple has been recording increases over the last 12 months as it has surged nearly 93% in the last twelve months. AAPL has also jumped 0.32% in its year-to-date record. The company has gained 0.82% in the last three months and 10.84% over the past month. In the last five days, Apple has grown by 0.82%.
