GoodDollar, the social impact project delivering a digital universal basic income (UBI) to more than 50,000 global citizens, is sponsoring new rewards for the next 1 million users.

With the new referral program, every GoodDollar user will receive a bonus of 100 G$ for each new invitee that signs up, and new users will receive a welcome bonus of 50 G$ in their account. eToro.com, the multi-asset investment platform that supports the GoodDollar non-profit as part of its corporate social responsibility programs, has sponsored the GoodDollar rewards, which will reward the next 1 million GoodDollar users.

Yoni Assia, CEO & Co-founder of eToro and GoodDollar, said:

“GoodDollar’s rapid success in reaching thousands of users across the globe shows that real people are eager to enter the digital assets market, and are hungry to participate in social projects designed to make the world a better place. We are confident that our sponsorship of  GoodDollar tokens for new users will support the onboarding of 1 million users to GoodDollar, as part of our larger mission to give more people the ability to experience and use digital currencies.

Our support for GoodDollar presents a new model for how corporate entities such as eToro can use their resources to do social good, through supporting efforts that educate and prepare people for how to use digital currencies in a digital world.”

The GoodDollar protocol distributes daily digital currency to all its users in G$, a reserve-backed cryptoasset which is currently held by more than 50,000 users. GoodDollar stands out in the industry for its daily free currency distribution and easy-to-use wallet experience, both of which are geared at making it as simple and low-risk as possible for people to experience using digital currency. The referral scheme will expand the GoodDollar user network and therefore strengthen the utility of G$ to be used for global peer-to-peer commerce and varied community usage.

To date, over 17,000 users have joined GoodDollar’s community-initiated and managed digital marketplaces, using G$ to buy and sell online services, and with users spinning off local marketplaces have been established in more than 40 countries. Services being offered through GoodDollar marketplaces include selling of digital services, courses, and a budding community of entrepreneurs who have started to develop new offers that serve the GoodDollar community. GoodDollar has is also being used by a number of social entrepreneurs, who have begun to use G$ to further their impact-minded initiatives, including fundraising for a soup kitchen in Israel, and a campaign to promote tree-planting in Spain.
