A total of five NFTs will be released for ‘Project Zero’. The team producers chose NFTs because the underlying tech allows creating a verifiable scarcity of the film’s copies and offers protection against piracy.

With two Oscar awards under the belt, popular actor Anthony Hopkins is now stepping into the non-fungible tokens (NFT) market. His new movie ‘Project Zero’ shall be released as an NFT which will be available on the Vuele NFT marketplace around next month.

VUELE is a shared project from FinTech platform developer CurrencyWorks and film production company Enderby Entertainment. As per the industry reports, this will probably be “the world’s first NFT feature film”.

Enderby Entertainment, who produced the ‘Zero Contract” film revealed some details. The story for the film includes five characters from around the globe “connected only by their devotion to tech titan Finley Hart (Hopkins)”. These five characters discover a secret invention by the tech titan.

They further collaborate to shut down the project since it provides “either the solution to mankind’s problems or the end of life on earth”. Moreover, the shooting for the film happened in 17 different territories during the early days of 2020 before the pandemic. Besides, a large part of the production also happened using Zoom to shoot scenes.

Cam Cannon, the scriptwriter will be dropping the script on Vuele later this month or early August. Producer/director Rick Dugdale of Enderby said:

“Everything about this film is unconventional. From the way we shot it using Zoom and remote production, to its distribution”.

NFT Drops for ‘Project Zero’ Film by Hopkins

The VUELE marketplace launched last month itself in June 2021 during the declining NFT craze. However, it has managed to pull some of the popular musicians, athletes, and celebrities in a short time.

Talking about the film’s distribution Rick Dugdale said that it will have up to five NFT drops on the VUELE marketplace. These NFTs will “include the film, plus extras still to be determined that would vary from token to token to create different price points”.

The film producer noted that the reason to launch the film via NFTs is that the underlying tech allows creating a verifiable scarcity of the film’s copies. This, in turn, offers the right protection against piracy.

The VUELE marketplace has the right infrastructure for film distribution and viewing. Users on this marketplace can easily purchase either using fiat or cryptocurrency. The Vuele website states:

“Members will have the opportunity to purchase and watch feature-length films and highly sought-after content, including behind-the-scenes and never-before-seen footage, bonus features, exclusive Q&As, #filmobilia, and so much more.”

The film industry is slowly navigating to the use of blockchain and the benefits it can bring. AMM Global Production Company is working on a 12-episodes series “Crypto Keepers” set for release in 2022. Last month in June, Fox Entertainment launched its $100 million creative funds for NFTs in partnership with Blockchain Creative Labs.
