Manchester City, a professional English football club, has launched a limited edition collection of unique jerseys in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for football enthusiasts and supporters worldwide.

The new NFT collection builds on the success of previous campaigns, such as Space Ballers, which featured City astronauts training in an extraterrestrial facility on their journey to the blue moon. The club’s latest campaign is titled “Unseen City Shirts” and it’s available on the crypto exchange OKX.

Man City and OKX Partners for New NFT Release

The digital artworks are available on OKX, a crypto exchange based in the Seychelles. Man City and the digital asset platform have had a longstanding business relationship since 2022, with OKX serving as the official partner of the Premier League club. Introducing the Unseen City Shirts campaign on the platform has deepened this collaboration.

In an official announcement on Monday, the professional football club said users could mint the new NFTs on OKX without attracting extra fees as the digital artworks were released under a free-to-claim campaign. The new collection features a modified version of Man City’s 23/24 City Home shirt, offering collectors a unique and captivating experience.

The NFTs come with varying levels of rarity, including classic, rare, or ultra-rare. Each rarity tier offers collectors different rewards ranging from exclusive NFTs like the Roses and the Bees to the opportunity to play at the Etihad Stadium and hospitality tickets to a Manchester City home game.

Man City said the rarity of the NFTs is determined algorithmically. Owning five ultra-rare NFTs will grant access to a play-on-pitch experience, two tickets to a Manchester City match, and a limited-edition City shirt.

Users Have Until April 29 to Mint New City’s NFTs

OKX unveiled the inaugural release of “The Roses and the Bees” on Monday. The exclusive digital collection, crafted in collaboration with conceptual kit artist Christian Jeffery, showcases two iconic symbols closely associated with Manchester City: the Lancaster rose and the worker bee.

According to the announcement, the Lancaster rose embodies the club’s rich history and roots, while the bees buzzing around the roses symbolize the industrious spirit of the people of Manchester. OKX said the free minting period for “The Roses and the Bees” commenced on April 22 and will run until April 25 at 9 AM UTC. After the minting window closes, users can check the rarity of their collections in their wallets.

Man City is slated to unveil the second collection later this month on April 29.
