MSFT stock has added approximately 30.32%, 35.73%, 22.07% in the past year, year to date, and three months respectively.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) stock is trading around $302.19, up 0.10% during the pre-market trading session. The Microsoft company announced that it will begin to offer a free upgrade of its Windows 11 on eligible desktops as of October 5, 2021.

The launch of Windows 11 comes nearly a decade after the company released one of its most successful operating software Windows 10.

However, the company has set a period through which eligible PCs can access the free upgrade.

“We expect all eligible devices to be offered the free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022. If you have a Windows 10 PC that’s eligible for the upgrade, Windows Update will let you know when it’s available,” the company noted in a blog post.

Key Highlights of Windows 11 by Microsoft

Microsoft and the team of developers have had a long time to learn from Windows 10. Over the years, the company has received detailed reports on the notable bugs and features that need to be altered to fit the customers’ expectations.

One of the key features is the chat from the Microsoft teams that have been integrated into the taskbar for easier connectivity. Windows 11 also comes with new Widgets, which is a new personalized feed powered by AI. Additionally, the OS upgrade has the gamers in mind with the best gaming compatibility.

Worth noting, the new Windows 11 is equipped with a new MicrosoftStore redesigned to match a friendly user interface. Moreover, Microsoft users can now access Android applications through the new Windows 11. The company made it possible through a collaboration with Amazon and Intel.

Notably, the team behind Windows 11 also considered people living with disabilities. Windows 11 is dubbed as the most friendly and inclusive to people living with disabilities.

Among other features, Windows 11 will also provide new opportunities for developers and content creators.

MSFT stock is expected to significantly benefit from the Windows 11 launch next month. With a new OS upgrade, the company anticipates having more subscription services and product sales in subsequent quarters.
