The metaverse real estate from the project is dubbed Shiba Lands, and according to the announcement, the lands will be available for sale/auction very soon.

The developers behind the Shiba Inu (SHIB) memecoin project have announced the proposed launch of the ecosystem metaverse. As contained in a blog post published by the platform, the name for the Shiba Inu metaverse will be unveiled later this month, but the team chooses to maintain the codeword, Shiberse pending when the name will be released.

The metaverse is a virtual world where humans can interact and do their daily routine but in a digital manner. While the concept is generally new, a number of multinational corporations are heavily investing their resources into the metaverse. However, crypto-focused projects are unwilling to play the second fiddle and thus far, have been unrelenting in maintaining the pioneering lead in the metaverse.

The emergence of Shiberse is a testament to the readiness to take up the challenge to improve its ecosystem for the Shiba Army while tagging along with the inherent evolution in Web3.0.

“We have seen the Metaverse space grow at a rapid rate with enormous interest from small and large companies alike. The Metaverse is set to be one of the biggest areas within crypto for many to enjoy, while others will produce content and developers will set up shops within using it as another great resource to offer crypto communities incentivization, content, and regular royalties,” the Shiba Inu Blog reads, adding that it plans to “lead this Metaverse sector.”

The Shiba Inu team has a number of plans in the works for the metaverse and these will be bootstrapped with the launch of its metaverse lands, a similar move that platforms like Decentraland (MANA), and The Sandbox are known for.

Shiba Inu Metaverse Lands and the Rollout Schedule

The metaverse real estate from the project is dubbed Shiba Lands, and according to the announcement, the lands will be available for sale/auction very soon.

Historically, metaverse lands are often in high demand as a high number of both retail and institutional investors believe in the future appreciation of these real estates. However, in order to prevent gas wars or bots, the sales of the Shiba Lands will be done via a queue system.

“We are working on a queue system, specifically designed for the Shiba Land sales event. This system aids with the prevention of Bots and Gas Wars while making the process something fair and smooth for our community worldwide,” the post reads.

Holders of LEASH tokens, one of the Shiba Inu ecosystem tokens, will be given priority access to the Shiba Lands, and a mechanism has been put in place that will protect holders of the LEASH tokens as a dump-off is not uncommon following the completion of a digital collectible.

After the exclusive selling process is completed, the remaining Shiba Lands will then be made available to the public. The Shiba Inu metaverse project draws a number of external development teams which the project says will be unveiled at a later time. With the dive into the metaverse, Shiba Inu is yet again proving to be more than just a memecoin.
