The 9th edition of the world-renowned flagship Global Blockchain Congress by Agora Group and co-hosted by TDeFi took place on February 21st and 22nd 2022 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Dubai, UAE.
This edition’s theme was “The Decentralized Digital Reality: A gateway to the Metaverse, GameFi & DeFi” and boasted an amazing line up of speakers including the opening Keynote Address by Her Excellency Dr. Maryam Buti Al Suwaidi – Chief Executive Officer, Securities and Commodities Authority of the United Arab Emirates.
The conference agenda focused on building the Metaverse and how Dubai can become the center of this new universe. In fact, we are delighted to launch the term “MetaDubai” at the event where a panel discussion, comprising some of the most influential blockchain leaders in Dubai, debated the concept of MetaDubai.
The Global Blockchain Congress featured more than 60 speakers, 200 investors, 30 sponsors, 20 media partners and more than 400 delegates. There were more than 350 one on one meetings conducted between investors and projects during the two day event.
Agora and X Ventures announced the launch of the X Competition. This initiative is all about finding, supporting and celebrating the change-makers and industry disruptive nomads who dare to challenge the status-quo and endure bumpy roads and failures until finally realizing their dream. The first edition of the competition was won by Legion Network and the two other top spots went to Animal Concerts and Krowdz.

The event is a closed-door, exclusive congress that can be attended by invitation only. Agora hosted more than 200 investors and 30 Sponsors (Metaverse, Gaming, DeFi and NFTs projects looking to raise funds).
The first eight editions of the Global Blockchain congress were a tremendous success and we were able to host more than 1000 investors and more than 200 blockchain startups and were able to raise Millions in funds for our participating projects.
Agora Group is very excited to announce the launch of the Saudi Blockchain Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on June 6th and 7th, 2022. Blockchain meets Saudi Arabia – this is an event that is long overdue: a platform for government officials, visionaries, leaders, investors, entrepreneurs and global movers and shakers to explore what a marriage between Blockchain and the biggest economy in the MENA region could achieve.
