Apple has finally introduced a long-awaited iPhone 11 as well as the latest version of Apple Watch and new iPad. The iPhone trio is the first to boast triple-camera systems, with Apple adopting a new Pixel 4-alike square-shaped array.

After months of anticipation and speculation, Apple finally revealed the latest features at the Steve Jobs Theater.

Tim Cook started with Apple TV + and said that first shows will be available on November 1 and there will be Apple originals every month in more than 100 countries at large. The price will be $4.99 per month for the whole family but users will get one year of Apple TV + for free.

Long-awaited iPhone 11

However,  the most interesting part was a hotly-anticipated presentation of new iPhones.

Cook said:

“I am thrilled to share with you the newest iPhone. iPhone11 is next generation jammed packed with great capabilities and great new design”

There will be a dual camera that’s 12mp wide, 26mm f/1.8, ultra-wide 12mp f/2.4. Also, there will be a 2x optical zoom out on the ultra-wide camera.

Apple referred to it the following way:

“This is the highest quality video ever in the smartphone enabled by a real-time processing”.

Also, there is the “fastest CPU and GPU ever in a smartphone”.

It seems that while they were speaking about 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display there will be just LCD, and not OLED. The price of iPhone 11 starts at $699.

However, iPhone 11 Pro has a Super Retina Display and it is OLED with 2 million to 1 contrast, 1200nits of brightness and 15 percent more energy efficient. There will be 4 high-efficiency cores that are powerful enough to use most of the time for great battery life. Also, the company announced “hundreds of voltage gates and hundreds of thousands of clock gates, so the chip only lights up what it needs”.

According to Apple, “iPhone 11 Pro is the best machine learning platform in any smartphone”.

iPhone 11 Pro starts at $999 but there is also a Pro Max $1099 the preorder of which starts on Friday at 5 AM PT and ships will start on September 20. Just for the record, iPhone XR will still be $599, and iPhone 8 will be sold for $449. Pro Max comes in a 6.5-inch size. The display also uses a new OLED panel and phones feature three cameras on the back — a 12MP wide camera, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens.

Moreover, Pro Max gets up to five hours more battery.

New iPad Generation

When speaking about iPad, Apple’s vice president of worldwide iPod, iPhone, and iOS product marketing Greg Joswiak said that they wanted a product you can take with you everywhere. As per his words, this year has been huge for iPad.

He introduced the new iPadOS that is built on the same foundations as iOS but with more powerful features.

Joswiak said:

“We’re providing experience that you can’t find anywhere else.”

The device is a 10.2-inch variant of the company’s tablet, slotting in at the entry-level as a replacement for the $329 9.7-inch iPad. It’s officially the first seventh-generation iPad that’s compatible with the full-sized Smart Keyboard, and it comes with the A10 Fusion chip. That’s slightly less powerful than the A10X Fusion chip found in the second-generation iPad Pro, but still powerful enough for an entry-level tablet. Joswiak also mentioned that, for the first time, this iPad’s enclosure is made from 100 percent recycled aluminum.

Apple Watch Series 5

Apple Watch announced three news research studies: Apple Hearing Study, Apple Women Health Study and Apple Heart and Movement study. Also, even though Apple Watch Series 5 seems to be pretty similar to last year’s Series 4, it added an always-on display option so you can see the time without having to move your wrist.

Apple says the Series 5 watch maintains the prior model’s 18-hour battery life, even with the new always-on display. Watchfaces and workouts were redesigned in order to take advantage of the new display option. There also will be a built-in compass and an option for emergency calling for international destinations. Prices are  $399 for the GPS model and $499 for the cellular-connected version. It’s worth mentioning that this device is also available in a recycled aluminum or titanium finishes.
