An Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is equivalent to an Initial Price Offering (IPO) on the stock market. In the 1980’s and 90s it was not uncommon for the fastest growing companies to IPO in less than 5 years. In fact companies like eBay and Yahoo were able to do it in 2–3 years. Within the last decade however the time to IPO has increased to around 10 years.
