The blockchain company Ripple has announced some significant changes in its management team. A new senior vice president of business and corporate development has joined the team. This position is now occupied by a well-known banking industry professional Kahina Van Dyke who previously worked as Facebook’s global payments director. Moreover, it was announced that David Schwartz, the company’s head cryptographer, would become its chief technology officer.

The new hirings is a part of an ongoing campaign by Ripple aimed at promotion of XRP as a useful cryptocurrency for facilitation of cross-border payments. Let us also remind, that recently Ripple Labs Inc has clearly explained the difference between their brand and XRP that is an independent digital asset. Nevertheless, nobody denies that Ripple owns enormous amount of XRP and uses it in all its products.

At her new position, Van Dyke will have a responsibility to establish strategic partnerships for the company across the world’s financial services industry with a view to develop and implement new innovative solutions for international payments.

Kahina Van Dyke is a prominent professional with more than 20 years of experience in banking and fintech industries. Among her most notable career steps were her positions at Mastercard and Facebook. For more than two years, she served as a Global Director of Financial Services and Payment Partnerships at Facebook and was responsible for development of new financial services and payment solutions.

Working at Facebook, she was successful in establishing partnerships with such key players of the industry as Citibank, PayPal, TD Ameritrade, Visa, Western Union and a number of others. As a result of these partnerships, users from Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and North America got an easier access to their bank accounts and an opportunity to conduct payments on the platform.

Commenting her new position Van Dyke said: “Ripple offers a compelling opportunity to be a transformative force for good in the world of money movement. Together, with our partners, we can reduce friction and deliver better options for individuals, businesses and financial institutions. It’s an exciting time in the industry — and I feel very fortunate to be a part of creating the next generation of global payments”.

As we have already mentioned above, Ripple has another personnel-related announcement. David Schwartz was appointed as the company’s chief technology officer.

Previously he worked for the real estate company Remax as a software developer, served as the Director of Network Services, Senior Network Engineer, and Director of Software Development at WebMaster Incorporated and later was promoted to become WebMaster’s Chief Technical Officer. Moreover, he founded several companies, David Schwartz Enterprises and Cardiophonics.

“As CTO, I’ll get to lead a world-class group of engineers, scientists and business executives, which is what makes coming to work every day so exciting. I’m looking forward to the challenge,” said Schwartz, speaking about his new position at Ripple.
