Last year, BitTorrent was acquired by one of the largest blockchain-based operating systems in the world Tron. At that time Justin Sun, CEO of Tron, said that his team had a lot of great plans on how to extend the p2p torrent platform that could boast over a hundred million global users per month.
Worldwide Live Streaming Service
One of the plans that sounded really prominent was the launch of a live streaming service on the platform. And now it looks like this idea is to be translated into life. Finally, the launch of the company’s new BitTorrent Live streaming service has been announced.
As it has been revealed in the latest medium post published by BitTorrent Inc., the leading p2p platform has launched its new streaming service that will provide customers with a possibility to express their creativity, create content and establish mobile connections with other people who have some common interests. The service will be available worldwide as the main requirement to get connected is to have internet access.
This information has been also published by Justin Sun on Tweeter who highlighted that this new service should be considered as a next step towards the decentralization of the internet. Moreover, according to him, the service may soon be powered by BTT. Nevertheless, there is no precise information when it will happen.

It is believed that quite soon blockchain technology will be incorporated into the service with a view to ensuring privacy and ownership to users as well as to enabling payments with BTT.
Commenting on their new initiative, Justin Sun also noted:
“Imagine chatting with your favorite athlete, becoming immersed in a music festival, or meeting new friends to share your passions — all by simply firing up the BitTorrent Live app. Our strong foundation of decentralized technology will allow us to fulfill our vision of a boundary-free internet while being at the forefront of a new content experience.”
Though the early access to the service has been already offered, BitTorrent Live will be rolled out in different countries all over the world in phases. It is planned that it will be available for beta testing download in Q2 2019.
It’s worth mentioning that it’s not the first attempt of BitTorrent to get involved into Live Streaming services. The similar service was launched in 2016, nevertheless, a year later it was shut down.
Tron and BitTorrent Prices
The news has a very positive impact on the prices of both BitTorrent Token and Tron. They both have managed to gain nearly 5% after the news was revealed. Now it is expected that prices will continue their way up when the services will become available in different corners of the world.
